Washington Nationals are hot garbage and Tampa played like garbage stranding runners all day long. Then bottom of 9th and 1st base is open and they not only pitch to Judge but also just keep throwing fastballs? The level of WTF on that was off the charts.

All that being said the Jays needed to find more wins during the season and not leave their fate in the hands of others. Those early season bullpen issues and losses really did come back to bite them in the ass.

They should have had 5-10 more wins easily. It was an exciting week or 2 here and the Jays look poised to be scary next season with a healthy Springer all season.

Playing in front of a home crowd of a good size makes a difference - it’s obvious.
