Also my Jays losing anger has subsided and I have read what others have wrote in defense of Charlie Montoya. I get it and they had a great season all things considered but I still don't see Charlie as the leader they need to get to post season success.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't like him. Things like when the other teams manager is chirping your likely Cy Young award winning pitcher and you do/say nothing is embarrassing and a joke (kind of like last night in here should be for some).

Give me someone like Gibby all day long - he was Pat Burns-esque and I loved Pat Burns.

Here is to hoping things stay calm today in here, but I'm not counting on it.

Oh and in true Leaf Koolaid drinking fashion I ordered a new personalized lic plate for my new (to me) truck that's coming. Leaf Graphic and the letters WTNBLU (White and Blue) - my other vehicle has the Leaf Logo and plate BLUNWT (Blue and White). I tried to get the leaf logo and just PAIN but it was taken.

I didn't read the full article, but the idea that we can squish this until it's completely gone immediately is a fool's errand. It would take generations to fully eradicate with proper vaccination - and that presumes a non-mutating environment. Those are two things that simply aren't going to happen.

I mean, experts have said all along that this is now with us. All countries should be pushing their vaccine and treatment options to reopen as much as possible with care measures in place until the active infection numbers are low enough that it's safe to reduce those restrictions.

It's so weird. The headline feels combative - like, "See. Told you we'd have to reopen with the virus anyway!" willfully choosing to ignore the progress that's been made globally in just 20 months. It's never been about restrictions or freedom or control - it's just about doing the bare minimum to potentially reduce the spread of a highly contagious virus. Like recycling - maybe it IS pointless, but just do your part. It could help.

I think if there was a full time mod in here you would be one of the folks on vacation (likely a shorter vacation than others but a vacation none the less) today but that's just my opinion.
