The problem with Patrick in Philly is that he didn't have Lindros written all over him. - MJL
Certainly not in terms of ability, that is for sure. |

Hockey 101. A center is not always going to be leading a play. In many cases they are deeper in the defensive zone and on the breakout than a winger is. Most of the team played well including Rostolainen. However it was a pre season game and the Flyers had an A lineup versus the Caps B lineup. Lets wait and see over a period of time how Ristolainen does playing against a teams top players in regular season action before anointing him one the best defenseman. He had some nice hits and didn't make any bad mistakes. Actually on that pairing last night, Sanheim was the best player. He was all over the ice. - MJL
I liked Sanheim last night, I think having a competent partner like Risto will enable Sanheim to take more offensive risks and hopefully will open up that part of the game for him. |

Patrick had Li dros written all over him ????? So you think Patrick will have a HOF career??? Situations are totally different. Patrick was treated just fine by Flyers they gave him all the time he needed to heal and coddled him. Lindros was totally mishandled by Clarke IMO because Clarke feared Lindros would take his title of greatest Flyer. - hfc355
I meant it in terms of damaged goods, that's all. |

We play Vegas twice this season. Hopefully Lehner starts both games and we put a lot of pucks in the net. - dubc55
It would be really unfortunate if RR accidentally steam rolled him, huh?
I hope someone on this team sticks up for AV and earns some brownie points by putting it to lehner |

This Lehner situation is strange. He also tweeted he barely knows Nolan Patrick. Then mentioned Hart. But Hart had such a good first year under AV… just all really strange. |

We'll see if Ristolainen is competent when the real games begin. I hope he's far better than just competent.

Ristolainen had a very strong game last night.
Re: Frost, his details were good last night. He had one of the better defensive games I've seen him play since turning pro. He forechecked well and created a Caps turnover in a dangerous area. Made the aforementioned stretch pass to Farabee and a good pass to Ellis. The shootout goal was meaningless but the Flyers are 1-for-13 on attempts over the two games; maybe that can an offensive confidence booster for him because he doesn't have much of his offensive confidence back yet. But you have to start with the process that leads to offensive chances and his process was quite good last night. When AV and staff watch the videom they'll likely be happier with his game last night. - bmeltzer
Yes, no doubt he was more visible last night and I did note his strong forecheck that lead to a dangerous chance by JVR, so this was a step in the right direction. And yes, anyone who can score in the shootout is greatly needed on this team. I still want to see much more from Frost, hopefully as he gains more confidence I will. |

Are you serious? This is laughable and Lehner is a joke for trying to make this an issue. - ClaudeFather
I am serious, and we shall see what happens.

If Lehner really wanted to do something about this, why didn't he go to the league privately and present actual evidence, so the league could start an investigation, rather and spouting off this spew over twitter and podcasts. |

He clearly is, I mean I watched two games so far and he is a beast, covers well, wins battles, skates well, hits hard but clean. There is a lot to like so far from Risto. |

Why is everyone getting worked up over Lehners statements??? It will be investigated and if what he says is true people will be punished. If not true he will look like a fool. Let it play out haven't we all learned that lesson by now. |

A manic episode - ClaudeFather
Classy.
A little fearful that the same coach who utterly helped embarrass the franchise last season, was definitely a part of shipping out some of the more vocal veterans, who has a questionable reputation from other players in the league… Fearful of said coach being called out?
Good for Lehner, and Vigneault can go (frank) himself. He has zero respect from me for throwing Hart under the bus publicly last season. If there is even a sliver of thought what him and his POS lackey assistant are like in the room.
Well. We shall likely find out more. Won’t we? |

Why do you wish that?? Maybe what he is saying is true and if so AV rightfully has a problem. If not he looks foolish. |

MB, did you listen to the Spittin Chiclets podcast with Lehner on it this week? He mentioned something about visiting a team before the 18 -19 season and called the coach a "dinosaur" and a "complete piece of sh!t" and I could not help but wonder if that might be the Flyers and AV. I think this kind of confirms that, but maybe he was talking about someone else. He then went to Long Island to meet with Lou and Trotz, and said they treated him awesome. That's why he went there that year.
Let's hope all of this blows over quickly, but I don't think that's going to happen. - Letterkenney
AV wasn't with the Flyers in 2018-19. He wasn't with any team that season. He took the year off after the Rangers fired him. |

It’s not classy.
I openly questioned Vigneault/Therrien even before this is starting to come out.
I am however not going to discredit Lehner because he has mental health issues. Good for him being vocal, and if you choose to believe what he is saying is nonsense, I cannot change that.
I personally think Vigneault is a sack of poop, and even before this. I wanted him nowhere near the Flyers. Therrien’s very professional interactions with Subban for example, are available publicly as well.

Dude, you sound like a baby. These are professional athletes, they are subject to being called out in the media by their coaches. |
