Nolan Patrick always came across as an entitled brat while he was in Philly. Good riddance! I think folks go too far both ways in evaluating preseason games. The other night people were too negative and last night too positive. I mean, I've never heard of most of the Caps players last night. Let's get to the games that count already!! The NHL needs to shorten their preseason like the NFL did!

He gave up a breakaway after not handling a bouncing puck at the blueline, but I really liked what Yandle brought to the game as a third paid D. The puck movement on the power play was noticeably quick and decisive when he was out there. Another guy that also stuck up for his teammates.

Agree with all of this. I also thought the overall puck movement was faster, on and off sticks, which I like. No over stick handling of it, the puck always moves faster than the players. Could be a good scheme thing, when your team isn’t as fleet of foot as some others.

I had high hopes for Patrick when here. Watched parts of some of the vegas games. He hasn’t done much and hasn’t stood out at all imo. More engaged than last year but that shouldn’t be hard to do.

Myers has played big minutes, has been ok. But like his replacement more. Jake will be jake and play every 5 th game. Will be interesting to see how he gels with his teammates. Haven’t paid attention to ghost. Playing in the west I think he will continue his struggles.

Well, minus being the franchise all-time leading points-per-game player, a Hart Trophy winner and two-time Hart finalist.

Ristolainen had a very strong game last night.

Re: Frost, his details were good last night. He had one of the better defensive games I've seen him play since turning pro. He forechecked well and created a Caps turnover in a dangerous area. Made the aforementioned stretch pass to Farabee and a good pass to Ellis. The shootout goal was meaningless but the Flyers are 1-for-13 on attempts over the two games; maybe that can an offensive confidence booster for him because he doesn't have much of his offensive confidence back yet. But you have to start with the process that leads to offensive chances and his process was quite good last night. When AV and staff watch the videom they'll likely be happier with his game last night.

Against a minor league lineup more or less. He still has a ways to go considering all the time he has missed.

Lol. In hindsight Lindros was right about pretty much everything concussion related.

Like it or not AV is going to end up being investigated by the team or the league over this just like Evander Kane just was over another Twitter rant.

- hereticpride

I think every modern player in the NHL, and really in every pro league owes a debt of gratitude to Lindros for taking that beach basically on his own.

As for AV, I have trouble believing a coach would have any say on who gets prescribed what from a team. Especially crap like what Lehner said.

Yes. But it was a positive step, especially after very little went right for him on Thursday. No more, no less.

yes very little against a real lineup. He is better off starting in the minors unless he just kills it the next few games.

Young player who hasn’t played in how long ? I’m really not sure what guys expect….give him some time…either in the AHL or NHL. He’ll be fine.

I don’t know the truth here, but to me it appears that Lehner’s rant doesn’t have any direct connection to Patrick being acquired by Vegas and becoming his new teammate. Lehner says he has barely met Patrick.

I’d be wondering what his facts are that he’s talking about. If facts are 3rd or 4th hand gossip. Oh boy. I mean, he hasn’t played for the org. Unfortunately for him, these facts sound sketchy to me and he may have gotten himself in trouble.

If he is in the know and the first hand players come forth with their experiences, it will indeed be a big deal though.

Yes. But I’d like to know what facts he has. What I believe that he meant maybe is that other witnesses have conveyed what they believe are facts. Just means he’s heard 2nd hand info really.

I’d say positive steps, but it’s preseason. All I’m hoping for out of these games is that they build chemistry and no one gets injured.

There is a big difference between saying “that didn’t happen” and saying “you can’t prove it.”

If that Patrick/Lehner stuff is true, this is one time where “cancel culture” should actually come into play.

Let it be known I hate that aspect of modern life.

Will be curious to see the ball washing of the Flyers coaches and management.

It’s hilarious to attack Lehner for his mental issues, and so strongly demonize Patrick.

Frankly, I hope the Flyers get burned here. They have been a poopshow when it comes to developing most of these youngsters and I firmly believe turnover in managerial/coaching positions needs to happen.

Perhaps this is the match to get it started. Vigneault and Therrien are sacks of poop, and with hope will go the way of Babcock.

I think Brassard can hold the fort down temporarily until Hayes is healthy. I really like that first line of 28/14/11.

Ummm, can not wait to see what Robin Lehner is on about.....

Part of me wonders if this has any relation to Nolan Patrick.

- MBFlyerfan

MB, did you listen to the Spittin Chiclets podcast with Lehner on it this week? He mentioned something about visiting a team before the 18 -19 season and called the coach a "dinosaur" and a "complete piece of sh!t" and I could not help but wonder if that might be the Flyers and AV. I think this kind of confirms that, but maybe he was talking about someone else. He then went to Long Island to meet with Lou and Trotz, and said they treated him awesome. That's why he went there that year.

Let's hope all of this blows over quickly, but I don't think that's going to happen.
