Exactly, implying it's some kind of safety net for a close colleague or other BS is making something out of nothing. They're giving him enough security that he can feel comfortable enough to do his job this season and next, at the same time not rewarding him with a longer extension since he has yet to produce the results needed for that. Pretty standard.

Actually an excellent question Mike. I am not convinced Keefe is a really good coach, I don't think those above Dubas are either. I think golden parachute, with hope that this team finally has some playoff success in which case management may buy in.
