You're not happy with anything, we WON last night, we looked bad at times, our "good" players were out, we came from behind and won. We are 1-0, great comeback and win for a bunch a players the league and fans have counted out. Quinn is far from a bust. - SABRES 89
Perfect post

Yes lets go off what people on the message board say instead of watching the kids growth
I might have to follow 89 out the door. I'll be sure to let hit my cheeky ass on the way out - DirtyDan
I don’t even know what you’re talking about now.
I was responding to the comment that we might not know what type of player he is for a long time
You responded by posting three underwhelming top 10 picks which is proving my point.
So do we agree or are you just being argumentative for the sake of it? |

Great blog baller.
Just keep taking my questions and keep turning them into gold. 🙂
Yes, peterka should remain with buffalo if he's better than 1 tooth drake. Or hayden or my favorite player cody. Eakin.
I'm sure he'll be Rochester bound. Unless the Sabres give the best players the best nhl opportunities.... out of camp.
Why talk about nhl spots/ competition ect. If the Sabres are going the conventional route by starting guys in the ahl - Boss34
I see no reason why Peterka shouldn't be a Sabre this season.
He and Cozensons together are fast as (frank) and fun to watch. JJ has an NHL body. He's ready.

Exactly, throw the paying customers a bone.
The exciting part of this season is seeing the kids develop. I'm sure everyone will get a look, especially after the trade deadline.
Assuming miller and butcher will be tdl guys.

Peterka looks excellent.
It’s going to be huge to draft and develop a good second rounder as they usually stay pretty cheap for a while
*Obligatory complaint to remain on brand*
I’d be shocked if he isn’t a full time Sabre by mid season |

Yep, he is this years Cozensons. He might even look a bit more comfortable than Cozens was last year. I will be surprised if he is not on the opening night roster.

His presence with Cozens on L2 would also bump Bjork down to L3 with Ruotsalainen and Asplund.
The pieces just fit better with him on board

If Cozens and Peterka keep building chemistry and keep looking the part during preseason why break them up. Just let them keep growing and learning together and when Quinn is ready hopefully he slips right in, just go find another Winger that clicks with them. Wish Murray played RW, he could work the boards and then go park in front for rebounds. |

Great writeup Baller. I agree with small pre-game writeups and then full analysis post game. As for playing the kids, let 'em play. If you wanna be the man, you gotta beat the man. If you do, you get your shot. Maybe some of these guys will excel when playing top tier competition. If they fold then you put them back in the training wheels until they learn to ride the bike again. You don't know what you have until you do.

They said that was a big thing with Olofsson's offseason workout program was this summer working on his upper body strength so he doesn't get manhandled |

Talent-wise, you'd like it to be your 3rd line. When other teams matchup to stop them, it's going to be tough on them.

Pretty much.
We’ll find out a lot about Mitts this year though good or bad |

I mean if Mitts took a step, Skinner goes back to form, Olofsson improves EV play, that’s a legit 2nd line …..banking on even 2/3 happening is optimistic |

Good post 😀
I would like to see cozensons and jj start the development pairing immediately.
If he struggles. send him back. Similar to mitts.
Although that didnt quite work out for awhile....
I think we see everything out of cozensons which the exception of goal scoring. Hope I'm wrong.
He has the speed, power and effort down ... goal scoring is a separate skill. Maybe goaloffson can room with him this season...
Turn him into a true 1C |

There's a lot of Love/Hate for Tage on the board. He will be 24 just after the season starts and is either going to show or fold. With that kind of size I hope he shows in a big way (pun intended). Use the size to your advantage and bust some heads if needed. He's never going to be an elite skater but if used right could definitely scare some people from going into the corners. If he folds, next man up and see what happens. I'm non-committal either way. I just want some fun hockey to watch. |

That's too bad, I hope he fights through it.
Looking back and seeing Andre Savard play I always wondered about that trade. He was a big productive center and the Sabres got a solid, I think Savard was two-way player but I was too young to really know but he was kind of boring.

If Tage doesn’t pan out they got Quinn, Rosen, Poltapov, Kisakov waiting in the wings.
I’m worried about what the plan is down the middle.
Ideally Mitts is a 3C and Cozens develops into a 2C eventually (he could be a 1C but I think odds favour 2C) |
