He’s a 5v5 warrior.
Leafs need wingers who’re more than just an offensive threat, they need to learn to play a 200ft game. Well, one particular winger needs to improve in that area, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for him. - Arctic_AARDVARK

No, I think Nylander needs to work on it also. So that would make at least 2 |

Leafs goalies could be their Achilles heel. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I've only been saying that for months. But, yes, I agree. This is not championship level goaltending. |

From the guy who thought Gusev previously had a 30 goal season, so accurate. Sometimes you just gotta accept that people don't have a clue. 🤷🏻♂️ |

He's had better numbers than Andersen 3 years in a row. Andersen is trash, and he's gone. Get over it, snowflake. |

Couldn’t afford Freddy. Most definitely couldn’t take the chance of moving sure things to free up the room on hoping Freddy regained his peak form. But heck let’s keep beating a dead horse. |

So you’re willing to say, on record, that Mrazek is better than Andersen?
Say it, I want to hear you exclaim to everyone here that you think Mrazek is a better goalie than Andersen. |

Andersen might look good in Carolina because they are a more defensive team. But guaranteed someone ain’t smart enough to get that.

Are you serious?
I'm not simple enough to think it's that clear cut. Mrazek has been far better at points. He's actually played playoff games and won a series without turning into a complete AHLer. There were points Andersen had better numbers too. Andersen is going to a better defensive team...
Andersen is gone, Mrazek is under contract for 3 years at a cheaper number. This only matters if you're a petulant child who can't let anything go and well, here we are. |

Freddy himself said he wasn’t comfortable playing through the injuries. So if he has a better season it won’t be totally because CAR has better defence.
But I guarantee some here “ain’t” smart enough to get that. |

not yet it isn't
For me, the Leafs will be using 3 goalies this year.
I don't trust the Leafs current proposed goalie tandem but willing to give them a chance |

How is that back pedalling? Because you're too much of a child to understand it's not a simple who is better thing does not equate to back pedalling.
There are plenty of variables that make it a not yes or no thing. Grow up and come back. |

Here, I'll put it this way since you're so intent on being caustic about it:
Andersen at his best is better than Mrazek at his best, so far. Andersen is 32, returning from a series of issues last year where he posted numbers worse than many backup goalies. For a goalie on a winning team, he was atrocious - but he was still better than Rittich . . .so I guess that's good?
Whether Andersen finds his form again or not, I can't say - I hope he does. I like Fred. But he wasn't doing it here. He was clearly done here. I think the coaching staff was equally done with him as well.
In Mrazek you have a guy who should be comfortable splitting time with Campbell and playing 35-40 games in a season. I'm happy with this decision.

You said the Leafs aren’t going to miss Freddy, even if they get really bad goaltending.
What else could you possibly be implying with that statement? Unless maybe you’re (uncharacteristically (I kid)) looking for a fight. |

Sure someone can go to Library and Archives Canada to find some pictures of that 1967 Parade, to maybe give it a theme, perhaps all in a black and white motif.
Cool. |

Fred and the coaching staff didn’t see eye to eye on him playing through the injuries.
Of course he’ll be a lot better this year. There’s literally a 100% chance he’ll be solid this year. |
