You must be new here, he was ON PACE for 60+ points in his contract year!

You are going to have to learn how to fit in here. Now sit down and shut up

- corduroy

Yeah I was on pace to shooting 18 under par Sunday when I birdied the 1st hole. ON PACE is a wonderful thing. Again he has scored over 45 pts 1x and never scored 50. Facts are facts

Frost better show up in these pre season games. Everyone on here wants to just pencil him in but if you don’t show the coaches aren’t just going to give it you.
- ClaudeFather

That clip of him not getting position, then losing puck battle, then his man to the net didn't look good against someone who is not even in top 10 of prospects (per broad street hockey).

Same here. We saw Nisky’s impact on Provy. Seems we could be getting the same with Ellis moving forward

Kevin Hayes in 8 seasons has scored more then 45 pts 1x..has never scored 50 points..on a contending team he is a 3C and elite PK guy..Forced to be a 2C here
- hfc355

He scored 55 points in 71 games in 18-19.

For his career he averages 49 points per 82 games.

Are you kidding? Elliot Desnoyers was drafted in the 5th round of the 2020 draft by Fletcher.
- jd250

When I read his reply it really made me think of I messed that up but I knew is don't because he traded up for the destroyer and for wisdom!
And both look like very very solid decisions so far! Whoever chuck has in the scouting pipeline and recommending these guys may need a promotion soon

I stand corrected he scored over 50 pts 1x in his career. You are 100% correct. He is not close to averaging 49 points per season. In 8 yrs had 1 yr with 55 and one with 49. Rest all others below 49

You think he gets to 50 this year missing games early on?

.5960 PPG is his average. IF he played all 82 games in a season he would score 48.8752 points.

So you see, he is on pace for 49 points per season

RE: Hayes

WTF do ppl think a 2nd line center should be expected to produce offensively? Especially one who doesn't play PP1 often and is often used in a shutdown role?

There's teams where neither of their top 2 centres will exceed 50 points by much or by anything. Consider also that a healthy portion of his points are goals, not assists

waaaaaahhhhh my 2nd line goal scoring shutdown center doesn't get 60+ points

Absolutely. I think he will more than fill the void left by nisky. And it’s time we get some good luck with one of the vets we trade for.

Hayes is within the top-60 Cs in terms of P/60 and xGF/60 at ES (with at least 500mins played). Top-40 in primary A/60. His production definitely seems to qualify him as an NHL 2C, albeit more of an average one.

If there's a problem to be pointed out it was his defensive play and overall puck management last season. Left a lot to be desired. Hopefully he can get back on track there.

Stop with the pace nonsense...PPG is a completely different number. He has not averaged 49 pts per season more like 43. Only hit above 49 once in 8 yrs

Our 2nd line shutdown center who has averaged 43-44 pts per season and is not a shut down center needs to average 55-60 pts. Couts is a shutdown center Hayes is nowhere near a shutdown center. His best season in last 5 was +1 and he is a minus player his 2 yrs here. He isnt shutting anyone down
