Love everything I’m hearing about Ellis. Doing everything he can to get to know Provy on and off the ice, I think they are going to be a great pair. - ClaudeFather
Ellis is a pros pro...he will really solidify things only question is will he play at least 70-75 games |

Brassard and Thompson are not going to give you any offense. They are both 4th line checking forwards anymore that no other teams wanted. Hayes injury really puts their C position in serious trouble. This team in real need of a quality 2C....Hayes really is a 3C when playing at his ability unlike last year when he was awful - hfc355
Hayes is not a 3C, 2 seasons ago when healthy was dominant. He is a 2C. |

Brassard had 32 points in 66 games for the Islanders in 2019-20. That's fine for a 3C if he can still produce in that vicinity. |

Yes. Even though CF made some needed moves, the cupboard is not bare. Some very good prospects that will likely contribute at some point. - Hextall271
That must be fake news, i keep hearing our future isnt good because Chuck traded away our youth

Dominant is a stretch. Hayes has never been dominant in his entire career but I agree when at his best, he is a 2C. Although destined to be an overpaid 3C.

Lol. Someone may loose their minds. Ronnie drafted him. No worries just getting ahead of it all. - Peter Richards
Are you kidding? Elliot Desnoyers was drafted in the 5th round of the 2020 draft by Fletcher. |

Brassard still has speed and can put up numbers, not like he once did but decent for a 3C. The problem will be if he forced to start the season at 2C if Frost isn't ready, then you will be asking for more than I think Brassard can give you at this stage of his career. |

Kevin Hayes in 8 seasons has scored more then 45 pts 1x..has never scored 50 points..on a contending team he is a 3C and elite PK guy..Forced to be a 2C here |

IF is a very big word . He is now 2 yrs older had 8G and 12A last year in 53G....he is better suited for 4th line play at this age |

Have you seen him play lately..he no longer has speed..20 pts in 53 games last year. Thats why he was forced to take a minimal contract to even have an NHL job this year. He really is a 4th line checking C . If he truly was a decent 3C he would have had many suitors |

Dave Scott was just talking about this the other day, that right now he also believes the Flyers are in great shape, with tons of good players in the pipeline that he believes is essential in a flat cap era. I think the concern that somehow the Flyers will go back to the Holmgren days is greatly exaggerated. Everyone knows in today's NHL you have to have a strong system of players to augment your core veteran group, otherwise you go no where. Fletcher this off season did an outstanding job of changing the mix and locking up key players without mortgaging the future or burying the team in cap jail. And make no mistake about it, Couturier and Farabee don't sign long term deals unless Fletcher first significantly reshaped the current roster. |

I think there were other reasons why Brassard was not signed which included he may have not been ready to take on a reduced role with a reduced salary, and teams had plenty of other options to fill a 3C role. The flat cap I believe also has a lot to do with some older veterans being signed late or not at all. Is Brassard the player he was with AV on the Rangers, no way, but can he fill in a 3C role, absolutely! |

Hasn't brassard said he is more of a winger than center these days? Or something to that effect?

This is why you need depth and why Brassard was signed. I look at him holding down the fort at 3C until Hayes comes back and Frost takes over, which if not at the start of the season should happen before the new year. |

I thought it was. He can play both but doesn’t like to flip back and forth in season. He was used on wing for the isles and it worked out. But didn’t see all his press stuff. So could be more out there. |

Oh OK, your post was talking about Desnoyers so I thought that is who you were referring to. Frost is a big pick by Hextall, he gave up a really good player to get him, so it will be important that Frost start making an impact very soon. |

If he is more of a winger why put him in a position to fail by having him play center?

I think we’re in OK shape in terms of what’s coming through the pipeline. If we were in great shape, we probably wouldn’t need to sign two fourth line centers and still be concerned of who plays second and third line even with Hayes being out. Is Frost really the next Giroux? We’ll see. |

You must be new here, he was ON PACE for 60+ points in his contract year!
You are going to have to learn how to fit in here. Now sit down and shut up |
