2014 tank team was very similar to the team this year. Core was not going to make us winners. I highly supported the tank in 2014. I do not support another tank. All the reasons Hank mentioned are valid. Plus, while 2022 looks very promising, it’s no Mc/Eichel draft. |

This year's team is nothing like that team. We knew it was going to be bad because that was the plan (we were still sellers at that point). The long-term core wasn't here and our pipeline was barren. That's why we ended up putting our eggs in one or two baskets.

FINALLY!! Granato is the first coach here in years that actually stopped practice because the execution was totally unacceptable.

That's absolutely mind numbing that we've had numerous coaches not care about execution. Like, what in the living (frank) is that.

EF on 32TP: "People are wondering to me, are the Sabres going to suspend him (Eichel) so they don't have to pay him? If they suspend him & he doesn't get surgery are they going to argue to toll the contract, which means that the year doesn't come off, kinda like the Yashin thing"
Friedman cont'd: "I think the NHL has to step in here, I do. I understand the NHL wants to protect the rules of the CBA, I get that, that is their goal, but at the end of the day I don't think it's a good look for your league.."

EF on 32TP talking Eichel: "The longer this goes on the worse it's going to get, you know what's going to happen someday, Jeff? It's going to end up in court..."
Cont'd: "I've had plenty of lawyers tell me that the CBA probably supersedes everything, but that doesn't mean you don't get that challenge. I mean that's going to be Eichel's only recourse at some point is to go to court."

I just don't (frank)ing get it. What coach, at any level, at any sport, says "(frank) it" when their players aren't executing their drills correctly?
Like it's causing a misfire in my brain rn.

Or, ya know, file for medical arbitration.
Friedman has really carried Eichel’s water for him this whole time. |

The #Bills scored 43 points in their win today.
The #Dolphins, #Patriots and #Jets combined to score 41 points in respective losses.

Make it even better, the bills almost double the amount of points in 1 game as the jets have all season

Yeah that is interesting. I assume tolling the year would push back the NMC by a year as well |

People were talking about this last year, too. It's really hard to understand how a professional coach would allow this, but the proof is in the pudding. |

So if the insurance company won’t back the contract if the surgery isn’t successful and then they are on the hook for $50 mill, maybe the NHL will back the contract? Or Bettmen? Maybe a gofundme is in order? |

That's what you took out of that article? I don't see it.
Anyway, I think he is right. At some point someone needs to step in when you're talking about service time possibly being forfeited.

There have seemed to be quite a few coaches. I'm not sure who was the last one to run a decent practice. Nolan? But he allegedly didn't know much about x's and o's. |

It just seems like a lot of boohooing about Eichel, which Friedman has pretty consistently done on his behalf this offseason.
Eichel has a remedy available to him: arbitration |

Maybe the coaches have more balls now because Jack, Sam and Risto aren't there and it is mainly kids who they are coaching and feel more free stopping practice sessions? |

NHL/NHLPA signed off today on transition rules for '21-22 season, which incl. amended critical dates calendar. Most every contract deadline, including end dates, buyouts and no-trade clauses, has been bumped back a few days. (Contracts ending June 30 will now end July 12, etc). |

I didn't think he took any position. It seems as though he was just reporting what he has heard, which of course is what people want him to hear. |
