because replacement surgery has never been performed on a nhl player, meaning jack would basically be a $50m guinea pig...that's a lot of money for an insurance co. to cover

I don't see how that excludes that specific surgery.. it's been done in sports. Just because it hasn't been done in this specific sport doesn't make sense(to me) as to why they wouldn't cover it.

It should be sated before what is covered and what is excluded... no?

Does each player have a different policy? or is it a blanket policy for the whole team?

I brought this up originally, a couple weeks ago. I reiterated it last week. I have been dancing with the insurance companies for my medical coverage for over 8 years and if they don't want to authorize anything, they won't. Dollar, dollar bills y'all.

If the company insuring the contract is not on board, that is a double whammy.
