Aren't they being frugal with the Amerks this year? Haven't seen any vet signings to help them. Usually means a long season down there.

Want him at the WJC for sure.

I don't think they're being cheap with Rochester.

They don't want to load up on veterans and have the veterans play all the minutes like years past.

They want to use Rochester as a true development team for the Sabres.

Adams pretty much said as much, didn't he? Didn't want to take the kids out of certain situations by burying them behind vets.

Why dont shootout goals count towards actual goals on the stat sheet again?

Cause NHL that’s why.

He needs time in Rochester to work on that decision making, but the hands are there.

Always thought at least the winning goal should count

Don't really care if their philosophy is different, but I do think cost is part of it.

Point here is really that the best AHL teams are carried by vets. When injuries start to hit, Roch is going to be pretty barren.

Eh. Should they? It would just be more fluff to wade through when trying to figure out if someone is actually good or not

It needs to reflect somehow. A GWG should count.

I know stats arnt everything but It makes little sense.

Here is a stat sheet.
Each team has 4 goals.
The Sabres win with 5.

Also, I don’t think the shootout should exist.

I’d rather have ties.

After some percolating in Rochester Weissbach is going to be a nice player.

Sure, so should two point conversions count as touchdowns for players stat sheets?

They got in the end zone.

Maybe, maybe the game winner should count. But besides that I personally am ok with them not counting

He’s already 23 years old. He’s gonna have to go one and done in Rochester imo to be more than just a fringe guy.

He’s definitely been lights out though from the beginning of camp till now which helps his cause

Oh yeah, one and done. He might even be with the Sabres towards the very end of the year and never look back to the AHL.

he’s a fresh face and has looked okay but imo at 23 he should look better than most of these young guys. I don’t see much of a huge impact from him. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

If Weissbach puts pressure on guys and is a viable third line option that can play in a pinch and be cheap I’ll take it.

He's playing preseason games now, not prospect, so he is playing against some NHLers and had 3 pts tonight. The he should look good against kids argument doesn't wash anymore.

Preseason, but damn.

76.9 xGF% at 5v5 for the Quinn-Cozens-Peterka line, the best of any Sabres line tonight
