EDIT: it gets even more comically bad when you breakdown the "scheme". 7 blocker. once. 6, 3 times. chipped the DE, times. screen passes, 0. rollouts, 5 times.

the worse was the play where peters went to block down on the DT and left garrett unblocked. needless to say, that was one garrett's 4.5 sacks.

I'm having a hard time with Ryans' play calling that final drive but the 49ers lost that game more as a death by a thousand self inflicted cuts than anything else. One of the worst games Shanahan has coached in his time with the 49ers

see my edit. but you have to trust your defense and you get the TD when you can. However, I may have called one running play to burn a little more time. SF still had all 3 of their timeouts and could control the clock at their whim.

Agree on your edit. The 49ers under Shanahan haven't been great in the red zone so get the points when you can, agreed, however even the play they scored on they had 12 seconds left on the play clock to snap it and all 3 timeouts so it just shows poor game and clock management

Edit: and yeah even if doing prevent (frank)ing blanket Adams...it was almost obvious what was happening
