Jack Rathbone and Will Lockwood, two great picks by Judd Brackett, I hope Rathbone beats out Juolevi. OJ's lateral movement are just not up to NHL standards. It's too bad Benning fell in love with his game after only one good tournament.

Looking forward to seeing what the Kraken sweaters look like in action, those have got to be one of the best in the entire league!!

Those were some decent Jim Benning picks, not his best but they seem to be working out.

Benning only gets blame for the busts, Brackett and other scouts get credit for the steals

I forgot the rules my bad, Juolevi was such a (insert CHL head scout) pick.

I'm sure they will be signed soon, but makes me appreciate BB even more. Telling his agent to do whatever he has to to get a deal done so he can join the team.

I like EP and QH and they are special players....but BB attitude of team first / humble / loving life make him a great leader IMO.

Agreed. I think Brock sometimes gets overshadowed a bit - and never mind all the trade rumours.

As Iain MacIntyre points out in his latest column, he's now the third longest-tenured guy on the team behind Horvat and Sutter (who isn't at camp). And Demko was drafted sooner but joined the team later.

I mentioned this in the comments yesterday: when he spoke to the media on Saturday, I was really impressed with how self-assured Boeser is now. Still has all those positive traits from his younger days, but has also come out of his shell and carries himself with confidence. That's the kind of stuff that's much easier to pick up in person than on Zoom calls

I agree. Bo as well.

Back when they named Bo captain, this place had two groups with two different opinions on whether EP was the team's real leader. I argued I had to see more from Petey before I'd give him the C. Miller hadnt played his first game for the Canucks yet so the obvious choice was Bo who had already shown great leadership.

A couple of seasons later, I feel they made the right choice and Petey still has a long way to go before he can captain a team I believe. Support leadership, sure but he isnt captain material yet that's for sure.

All season the Petey group was wanting the C taken from Horvat because he wasnt having a very good first half... well that's not what its about...points and +/- but that was their war cry... then the play offs came and Bo led the league in goals for an entire round plus after the Canucks were eliminated. That shut them the fuk up...

Hughes is the only player i can think of that fell into his lap. Scouting is a group process, the person who makes the final call in that group is the GM. Seems to me this is the best scouting/drafting weve probably ever had. But hey, im sure someone else deserves the credit.

Only care about the players who are signed and I agree that the roster looks really promising right now, only Vegas really stands out as a potentially better team inside the division.
- Nucker101

Everyone's too quick to give Vegas first place in the division. They lost Fluery, Tuch is out til mid January, everyone's getting a little older, their center depth is meh.....
I think will see some surprises this year. Too many teams underachieved last year, this year should be different.

Edit: Thanks Carol! You finally reported on the Flames!

Absolutely, good on Brock. I cheer for the team, not the individual players. Those that don’t want to be here can get the (frank) out. Adios pouty and shrimpy

While Vegas lost a step IMO, no other team took a big enough step to close that gap on them. They're not a lock, but they're a better, more experienced team than any other team in this division.

Hughes, Elias, Hoglander, demko, Podkolzin, rathbone, mikey D and Boeser all fell into bennings lap. Benning reached and didn’t listen to his scouts when he selected Virtanen and Juolevi

He seems like the type who will develop into a very good leader as he gets older and more mature.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing DiPietro in action. With the lineups the way they are it looks like he has a chance to put on a show.

Their defence looks good, goaltending is worse and I believe losing Tuch will really hurt. I forgot they signed Beartchi so they should be fine.
