And you don’t think teams will clue in and stop a defenseman carrying the puck? Carrying the puck out is a nice option on occasion but the only way to consistently clear the zone is to have the forwards supporting the defensemen and get themselves open for short passes out of the zone. If the opposition decides to send three forecheckers in deep to close the passing lanes that’s when you go for the Hail Mary pass to trap the forecheckers. - paulr
Need Se brook back to show them how it’s done. |

One of the reasons in Murphy is still on the team, and will be for a while longer. - BetweenTheDots
Murphy/Stillman pairing makes zero sense. Both are best served as stay at home dmen. Murph is not a puck carrying type. Ridiculous. |

Colton Dach will not practice today because of a right shoulder injury. #Blackhawks
Alec Regula is warming up Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban. He left Saturday’s scrimmage early.
#Blackhawks#Blackhawks second power play unit: Henrik Borgstrom, Kirby Dach, Dominik Kubalik, Philipp Kurashev and Wyatt Kalynuk.
Alec Regula skated for a bit but is not practicing today because of a lower back injury.
Nolan Allan, who skated with the first group, is taking his place in the second group. Double duty. #Blackhawks
Lukas Reichel is skating on a line with Jonathan Toews and Brandon Hagel today. #Blackhawks |

If the early lines are any indication (although not holding my breath), it appears the Hawks expect T. Johnson to be a big point producer. He's been centering Kane and ADB most of the time and getting time on PP1.
#Blackhawks first power play unit: Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Alex DeBrincat, Tyler Johnson and Seth Jones. |

DeBrincat and Johnson should room together on the road. Hawks could get a "two for one" rate. |

LOL. One sentence from a writer and the pitchforks come out. It was day 3 of camp. Relax. Save the angst for the preseason. |

Turkey Jizz still has tred on the tires and typically plays aggressive. I’d be concerned the bigger d-men would go head hunting but (frank) it let’s roll the dice |

I know a few people here who will appreciate this comment:
Brandon Hagel was asked who will be this year's Hagel-esque breakout. He said Entwistle.
"The way he talks, the way he portrays himself, he really wants to get to that next level and I think he has the ability to do so. He can really be a surprise somewhere down the line." |

I see Hagel as a guy who is bottom six but who, like Shaw used to, be spotted on on the top two lines, kill penalties and play on the power play. While Hagel may never be a top end player I think he has the potential to be an important piece of the lineup. |

Oh, I thought you were talking about Entwistle. Hagel in the "top 6" doesn't bother me at all. Even if he only produces at a 0.5PPG clip, he creates or opens so many opportunities for others that I don't think he would be a liability at all. Not to mention he plays the full sheet of ice so he should help keep the GA down when he is out there. |

Colliton also raved about Entwistle.
"The skating...he's really improved. It's been a huge step forward year-to-year. He looks more and more like a man and like he can really put his stamp on things." |

Sorry, I guess I wasn’t that clear. I really like Hagel’s game. While it would be nice for a young guy to play his way onto the team I’m not sure Entwhistle is ready? |
