You bought the practice jacket? Wow, you have a shopping problem.

I only bought the pants.

I could quit shopping any time...

If it hadn’t been for the rule that you can’t have two consecutive letters from your name in your password, my kid was going to get a Freddie practice shirt for a Christmas. CCCCCC1212 is my go to. Having to do a second password was a message from God to step away.

Hey thanks!

I just bought some new practice pants I absolutely do not need!

$50 was a good deal, though.

Of course, not spending $50 would have been a better deal.

This is better known as CSS, or 'Costco Shopping Syndrome'. My wife has it.

The solution is managing the illness to keep coming up with new and worse ways to store things.

There is no known cure that I've found.

Bwa ha ha ha ha!

That thing caught me too - and my first reaction was "What the hell are they talking about? I haven't got..."

Yeah, I did.

Forgive me, this may be a stupid question - I'm not a car guy - but here goes:

Couldn't you get LED lights installed?

- Atomic Wedgie

Excellent question.

It was enough to make me realize that this wasn’t a good idea. I still had a bit of a warm feeling left from that half an hour ago when my told me she absolutely needs a new guitar.

I didn’t move a muscle

It's the immediate question that came to my mind. Then again, I would shocked if there was a more uninformed car person in this forum than myself.

SHHHHHHHH my wife might hear you!

But yes, I did price that option out and despite it voiding the warranty on lights (which wouldn't be a big deal off once it's expired anyhow) it was apparently about $600 which seems reasonable.

The air ride suspension and the fact I know 2 days after the warranty is up the stupid thing will go again and I'll have to replace the condenser and all 4 air bags is really what's driving the need to buy a new ride.

The shortage of micro chips is (as I understand it) what's driving the price of many vehicles up and of course the boss now wants blind spot detection in the new truck which seems like a unicorn....

Oh well I don't mind truck shopping - it's better than actual work. lol

A dear friend of Ms. Wedgie and me used to own an auto shop downtown.

It was beautiful, because I trusted her. If she said I needed something, fine.

One time I arrived to pick it up, and she said she had made a $900 repair. She was all apologetic, and actually showed me the parts she had replaced.

I told her that she could be showing me parts from a fridge, and I wouldn't know the difference.

Paid the bill, thanked her, and went happily on my way.

Sadly, she's now waaaaay in the west end. I'm terrified every time I pull into Mr. Lube - because I know they are going to try to live up to their name with me.

The practice jerseys are nice (yes I bought one - but again last year) but I refuse to buy one with a players name on it. I got a team used goalie cut practice jersey last year for I think $100 or $125? I mean it was used by who knows all of the Leaf greats like Toskala, The Monster, Optimus Reims, AND Freddy. lol

If I am buying a player worn jersey it would be a gamer but those prices simply have me say "nope".

It's heriditary - my father has a 'guitar room' because he can't help himself. If I can dig up pics of said room I'll share. I don't play but showed a friend of mine who does and he was rather impressed.

I do like the blind spot detection.

And I swore that I never needed heated seats and a heated steering wheel, but now that I have them, damn, they are great.

I maintain my stance though that moonroofs are stupid.

1. Def. want the BSD - again it's on my better half's ride and it's awesome.

2. Heated AND COOLED leather seats. The heated steering wheel is equally awesome on a cold day but cooled leather seats on a hot summer day are da'best. I will not get a new truck without these options.

3. Moonroofs m'eh agreed and the huge ones now are just too much for me. That being said I have the Rambox option on my truck and love them and if I go new will get them again so any savings from no moonroof are mostly lost on this option.

Can relate - my wife's high school friend has a shop in Scarborough (Rouge) that we trust 100% but that is a really long haul from Barrie so we almost never go to him except for tires or major stuff when a vehicle is off warranty.

So apparently it's meaningless sports quotes on Twitter Thursday:

Kristen Shilton
@kristen_shilton
Wayne Simmonds said John Tavares invited #Leafs up to his cottage over the summer, where they (in part) processed last season’s loss:

“We had a great dialogue with one another; we kept it real. We got to address what happened head-on, we’re not hiding from it. You learn from it”

- - - - - - - -

James Mirtle
@mirtle
David Kampf: "I chose Toronto because it's one of the best organizations in the NHL."

- - - - - -

Kristen Shilton
@kristen_shilton
New #Leafs forward David Kampf on his focus this season: “My goal is to shut down the best players in the NHL.”

James Mirtle
@mirtle
Bunting says the main reason he signed with the Leafs was to get a chance playing with someone like Tavares. Obviously very excited to be here.

I have friends who suffer from this as well. It has other known side-effects like renovating the garage into a music studio and buying more amps than you'll possibly need.
