Ontario Human Rights Commission upholds vaccine mandates and goes further saying any organization not included in the provincial list can use the government mandate system. They also say there is no religious exemption and medical exemptions require doctor’s letters.

I guess they want to make a lot of work of lawyers!

While these measures don’t violate human rights, the OHRC says that the COVID-19 vaccine mandate is in response to extenuating circumstances and that it would only be justifiable during a pandemic.

Under the human rights code, personal preferences are not protected.

“Receiving a COVID-19 vaccine is voluntary,” the statement continued. “At the same time, the OHRC’s position is that a person who chooses not to be vaccinated based on personal preference does not have the right to accommodation under the Code.”

There will probably by all sorts of lawsuit attempts and appeal attempts and blah, blah, blah - but to me it feels nice to have some common sense being applied.

It’s their job to review the policy. If they thought the vaccine mandates had violated human rights they could have taken legal action themselves. The Drexel’s of the world would have exploded if that had happened. Their finding is useful for the government in fighting any court battles that might come up anyway.

FYI folks MLSE has game worn, training camp issued and official pro/team stuff that was unused by the team on auction (but some of it is buy it now).

They do this fairly often and there are some deals in there - I grabbed a stretch fit Leafs ball cap for $20 and in the past have got some great deals on the team not issued golf shirts, St. Pats hoodie, long sleeve "performace" Tshirt and even a coaches St.Pats jacket / pant set on the cheap. The Fanatics Pro stuff is a much better quality than most retail stuff in my opinion as far as the training gear goes.

The tshirts and long sleeve t shirts are really nice as far as moisture wicking for those hot summer days when we are crying about the Leafs no longer being in the playoffs.

They have something for everyone it seems from fan boys of a specific player (you can buy worn ball caps / practice jerseys or hoodies from your favourite player with a letter of authenticity) to just those who want plain team with no player stuff.

Taking away the joke now - No, I'mnotsure if they washed the player worn ball caps and hoodies from last years playoffs enough times to get the stank of the 1st round loss out of them or not.

Garnie - time to break the bank and get your very expensive cosplay / Halloween costume!

Go Leafs Go

A few years ago, I got a top of the line CCM helmet (the kind with the weird spring padding) with an Oakely half-visor for $100. It was probably worth $550 new.

I was talking with the guy running the sale, and he figured it was used in a rookie camp - so practically brand new. Because it didn't have a number sticker on it, they were just getting rid of it, as it wasn't of value to souvenir idiots who wanted "authentic, game used equipment."

Weddings are going to start up big time. We were at one last weekend in Halifax, I was the photographer , non paid... Friends, who needs them..

I arranged my mother's celebration of life.

I phoned up our club, asking about availability. They told me it was my lucky day, as they just got a cancellation for a month out - on a Monday.

They were telling me that there's a 16 month backlog - so I'd better take it.

I took it.

I thought it was the Nick Ritchie skating post.

Who, btw, doesn't look that bad when you compare it to the Garland/OEL videos.

Hey thanks!

I just bought some new practice pants I absolutely do not need!

$50 was a good deal, though.

Of course, not spending $50 would have been a better deal.

Friends up the street had a relative die last year. He was a pretty big name - like, probably 500 people would attend his funeral kinda guy.

They still haven't done anything, and they think they've missed the window of opportunity.
