Eichel has made it clear he’s willing to go anywhere to facilitate a trade. One of 1/2 doz teams involved tell me a trade is doable as long as the @BuffaloSabres are willing to add “conditional” clauses around how he performs after surgery. ie .. games played, scoring etc.

I might think about one condition being retaining salary as Boss stated if he doesn't hit certain marks then give top prospects and nothing higher than a 2nd

I don’t think anyone ever said he wasn’t one of those guys. His talent level on the other hand….. there’s a lot of great leaders, and if he wasn’t in an industry where is actual performance gets judged but can just be an excellent motivator for others, cool beans. He’s been a fourth line production player, third in a pinch. I don’t hate him, I’m just indifferent. Which might be more telling.

So the 2 sides are at an impasse. Why can't the team or league step in and demand medical arbitration, rather than letting the whole poopshow continue indefinitely? seriously, the NHL, the Sabres, and Jack all need a resolution and medical arb is the way to get it so the league should be insisting on it.

I myself don't poop on ZG a ton because of what Kyle said. He is what he is, everyone knows what he is on the ice, he's overpaid but I think he still brings a positive element to the team. I'm glad he's here at a time where we are desperate for leaders.

No, you had it right. Then they are going to have to put other assets in as conditions. Trading to a team with at least some talent to help play with him will help him get the points he needs to hit the qualifications and hope his health holds up.
