Ryan Kesler came out publicly about his situation and how he used his NMC recently to facilitate a deal. I’m trying to find it as we speak.

Okay, Sabres say we have offers on the table.

Florida
Ottawa
Calgary
Anaheim
Arizona

Would you go to any of those teams.

Eichel: No.

What power did the Sabres have here?

- ImThatGuy

Ok. We will enjoy having you on our team.

I'm not going to go that far, but everything this organization has touched for the past decade plus has turned to absolute poop. They do not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Until the prove otherwise, every decision they make should be assumed to be the wrong one.

Sorry, but that's ridiculous. Why even be a fan then?

find me a player who didn't get their way?
- ImThatGuy

Fair point, let me counter. Did they all get it right away without playing for their current team still? Or did some take over a year to develop before being traded. If I remember correctly, the Nash trade took like 17 months or something, probably because Columbus said we are not trading you for the package that is being offered.

You missed the part of the conversation where the Sabres fail to honor his NMC and say you can rot away for the next 4 years, as everyone is saying the Sabres should do.
- ImThatGuy

The NMC only let's Eichel say yes or no to a trade, it doesn't require the Sabres to trade him even if he asks nicely. You have to understand that. Yes, the Sabres cannot let it get to a point where he doesn't play for 4+ years but that is possible if he doesn't follow their medical advice or file for abritration and win or the Sabres or another team agree to his procedure.

This is a crappy situation but to think Eichel is 100% in charge even after July 2022 is way off base.

Remember how Hasek didn't completely derail this organization by his trade requests when he had his NTC.

He even said return is too much, ill say no to that trade if you include XXX players.

I'm sorry, but it's clear you don't deal in contract enforcement.

Despite being presented with the facts, you choose to dig your heals in.

That's how the language works. It is intended to bring the parties together and level the playing field.

You seem to be redefining it how you want to in terms of application.

No amount of evidence I provide will suffice as this is the reality bubble you've built for yourself.

Good day.

It’s so confusing as to what the plan is.

Let’s continue to crush his value while hoping a team is just gonna decide to offer more now than before?

We’re gonna get a hilariously bad return at this point.

Another fumble by the genius Harbor Center GM

It's sad to watch. If they don't move him before the season starts, where is this going?

Because you are wrong.

Eichel has the final say.

That's what a NMC clause is.

Buffalo can negotiate with any team they want, they have that power.

If EIchel says no, i wont go there, the Sabres cannot trade him there.

Looks like we're about to find out. Sounds like the new agent is helpful to the situation.

I do like how it went radio silent after the draft. That was promising. Really think Jack realized how much it was hurting his value.

It's a business.

Dahlin's going to the KHL. Lol, didn't happen.

Owen Power isn't going to be happy in Buffalo. Power: "I would love to be a part of the Buffalo Sabres. Nice and close to home. I know they've got a rich history. It would be an honor to play for them and to get drafted by them."

The Doom and Gloom crowd worries about crap for almost no reason.

Yet the Sabres just came out and said about 2 hours ago that this situation is all Jack Eichels fault?

HOw is that helping.

Yep, he sure did. He also said and I quote

"Pittsburg had a deal for me, it fell through, I don't know why to this day, and they go on to win the cup"

Man it's almost like Vancouver didn't find the value in what Pitt was offering for Ryan Kessler and said no thanks. Hmm, thank you for finding evidence that literally proves my point all along. He does eventually get traded to a team of his choosing, but man did Vancouver not cave right away like some are saying.

And Eichel can say trade me here, and if the packages aren't good enough, well pull the Sabres sweater over your head and play.

End.

See how both have power?

Find me "evidence" of this happening anywhere where a player openly request a trade.

Also, why Didnt the Sabres just do that with Taylor hall. Say fine, you can just tay here and play and leave when your contract is up?

Why didnt the SAbres do that with hasek?

Why didnt the Blue jackets do that with Rick Nash?

End result is the same, whether in 3 years or 3 months end result is player walks.

Guess you didn’t hear the part where he told Benning to Frank himself and told him either Chicago or Anaheim right after I guess.

Good thing they didn’t get more from Pittsburgh before that happened.

There's a fair bit of distance between "sticking up for this embarrassing franchise" and understanding that you don't panic and accept a garbage trade for a franchise player. THAT is what an embarrassing franchise would do. For the short to mid-term, time is on the Sabres side. They have no pressing need to trade Eichel right now. Stop the whining and panicking.

This is an option, but realistically, they're going to work with him.

Today's presser sounded WAY different than the previous "we hold all the cards" one.

Really think there was a really contentious behind the scenes relationship that spilled over.
