So Jack Eichel didn’t agree to trade himself the last 7 months ?
Or is it the organization that is holding out for more value and not letting a 24 year old man decide what surgery he thinks is best for himself ? - Pegullaville
they'll trade him at the right price and let the other team face any insurance liability and/or cap implications should "his" surgery not go as expected |

If it's the right surgery then he should have no problem winning an arbitration ruling - Hank Balling

Could also kick the can down the road as long as he can, get the Sabres surgery that they want, then all of a sudden it’s hey my NTC has kicked in would you look at that - Pegullaville
They can also say, this is the team we want to trade you to as they've offered the best deal. Take it or you can rot for four more years.
This idea that Jack absolutely has all the leverage come July is not entirely true. |

Jack Eichel purposefully missing an entire year of hockey is a non-scenario.

From 2010-2016 we have 4 players still on our teams from those drafts if you don't include Jack. One of them had left for the majority of the time and is now back so technically 3 still on the team from those drafts.
0 from 2011
0 from 2013
0 from 2015 (Since Jack is 3 quarters out the door)

Tweet from Panthers reporter David Dwork
Sam Reinhart understands the that wearing No.13 is a big deal in South Florida sports
.
"To follow a former club legend in Mark Pysyk that wore the number before me, it's pretty exciting to have that opportunity myself."
(Verhaeghe wears 23, Rhino had to pick new number)
First day at training camp Rhino on Barkov’s right, Verhaeghe on the left. - Ratsreign
so 26 yr. old carter verhaeghe, a third round pick that's totaled 95 nhl games since being drafted in 2013, trumped reinhart?

I fail to see how getting nothing for Jack Eichel speeds up the rebuild.
I also don’t see why any free agent or draft pick would want to come to Buffalo if we hold players hostage.

Yea because that will end well for buffalo.
Jack Eichel goes public and continues to ruin the Sabres organization and tells other players not to come here. Tells others how they don't honor contras that they themselves offered.
Remember how they told Taylor hall to Kick Rocks and didn't take less? |

Tanking gave us a legit 1C and a legit 2C/1RW.
The inability to build around Eichel and Reinhart and draft outside the first round has nothing to do with purposely losing.
Does Edmonton suck because they were able to draft McDavid and Driasatil or because they can’t surround them worth half a sh** ? |

This time is going to be different. We have a 16% shot at getting the best player in the draft.
Not like last time where they had a 16% chance to get the best player and ended up getting pick 2 instead. |

How tf are we holding anyone hostage?
I think everyone knows this is a business and if your team doctors are telling you something you should probably listen to who you employ.
Or why tf would you employ them LOL

No one is saying that.
They have been trying to trade Eichel for nearly 2 years basically.
Started taking calls last trade line, (NOt this past one)
They gave Eichel a full NMC clause.
They have had all the time in the world to trade him, if they fail that is on them.
If when his NTC clause kicks in they basically say we are not honoring that, and hold him hostage that does not end well for buffalo.

I don’t get the nmc being an issue at all, if Eichel wants out he’s gonna have to accept a trade to a less than desirable team (possibly).
Adams: we have a good trade from the ducks Jack we are going to trade you to Anaheim.
Jack: no I don’t want to go to Anaheim.
Adams: ok they I guess you are staying in Buffalo
Jack: Anaheim sounds good, thanks. |

How did that turn out for us? Now they are gone (or as good as gone) and we are right in the same place we have always been. LAST.
I agree with were unable to surround Jack with Talent and hired the worst coach I have ever seen in my life (Freddy Kruger) and that includes garden gloves Ron Rolston.
i just want to know when the cycle will end, I mean I know when it will but that will not happen for 3 more years when they clean house again, and finally get a PROVEN GM & Coach in here along with a President of Hockey Ops. |

They offered Eichel a full NMC, they gave him all the power.
The Sabres offered and signed the contract.
Everyone wants to talk about honoring contracts, but when the Sabres lose power its "Well we can just tell him to shove it"
Cant have it both ways. |

Buffaluck. Win the lottery in the wrong years. Just like Edmonton did for how many years straight. Only hope is that we get at least one of the next Crosby/McDavid's in Wright, Bedard, or Michkov. |

If the Sabres finish last they are guaranteed to pick top 3
However other than Wright it does look like Lambert/Savoie may not be the slam dunk 2 and 3 anymore.
However I do think once the WHL gets going Savoie will eventually get that 2nd spot. |

I can't see Eichel rejecting a trade anywhere if it means playing hockey again and getting the hell out of here |
