That would be my point also that I have not seen one thing about him even yesterday. They had a chance to bring him in last year and didn't . Even the Blackhawks had him in the minors. I would be surprised if he made the Canucks.

I think the most ready prospect has to be Lockwood as the dark horse . That said Gadjovich had a strong day yesterday and because he needs waivers that might play in but Lockwood is the guy that deserves the chance.

But we’ve been talking about Lockwood. Bowey has been an absolute non factor, and I’m make a bold prediction that he will surprise us all

Like I said the bag skate is pure entertainment and that is it.

That said, OJ has an excuse maybe, but what about the last four years? I am not pissed or anything but the longer it goes on the bigger the longshot he becomes. I was joking about him only yesterday but the truth is he is always on the bubble with me.

I wasn't necessarily excusing his quality of play, just giving context. Here's some more:

In a year where almost everyone was terrible, he was fine. Needs to be better to even make the team this year though.

I have to agree the team looks better on paper, question remains with all the new faces how long will it take them to gel?

Numbers don't mean a lot to me when he is playing sheltered minutes.

I am not picking on him . I am just saying the longer he takes the further he falls in the rear view mirror. It is a make or break year for him. Bag skate aside he had a very average showing yesterday . Something you would expect from a first camp prospect not someone fighting for a spot.

The forwards should be improved. The defense is the big question mark.

If Harmonic doesn't play, I'm sure they'll be looking to add at some point.

Hopefully the Canucks can void his contract.

I don't think it's that easy, he's not the only one. The PA will have something to say about that.

They'd probably put him on waivers to send to Abby and he'd get claimed by an American team (Buffalo or Anaheim need a lot of help on D)

Yzerman in his camp-opening video call said the rest of the organization is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including himself. Bertuzzi is in Detroit for the start of on-ice workouts Thursday but the forward may end up forfeiting over $450,000 in salary for the Red Wings’ nine games north of the border. NHL protocols allow teams to suspend unvaccinated players without pay when they are unavailable to participate.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not sure if this will play out but have heard a couple of things mentioned. I heard players will have separate dressing rooms , separate practice times , and even separate flights.

With travel restrictions with the borders I am not sure what kind of isolation time would be required but all games missed look like they will come at the expense of the player.

Canucks could also trade him to an American team seeing he only has a 10 team NTC this year.

I believe Canucks can also suspend him for not being at camp.

Not sure of all of this seeing it is new territory but I think in the end the contract will probably be voided.

Wonder what happens if some players refuse to play with or against the unvaccimated?

I would guess if any player refuses to play the contract can be terminated. Not sure about American labor laws but I think Canadian law you can refuse to work in an unsafe environment . All new territory we will find out as they go along.

I think the unvaccinated player would need to be tested every day.

Yeah, I don’t think they are allowed to socialize either. They travel and stay in their own bubble. Could this be the first mythical Canuck MTA?

I think he will relent, get vaccinated and join the team and it will all get swept under the rug.

I agree but take into consideration he did sit out for the first bubble.

Heard a quote on the radio this morning that the only reason that the ICU’s in Alberta haven’t imploded is because people are dying quickly enough to open up beds for incoming patients. Sad.

He was worried, and rightly so. I think the inability to work, and the protection this would offer his family will overcome whatever personal objections he has. Unless he has some undisclosed medical reason, but then if that’s the case, he probably shouldn’t be playing anyway.

Rob Brind'Amour had a good quote on it:

"Golly, we sat for a year praying for a cure for this or a way out and we get it, and people don’t want to put their arm out to take the shot, it doesn’t make sense to me."

Seems weird he sat out because he was worried about contracting the virus for him/his family, and now is worried about getting the vaccine that would protect him and his family from the virus. Either get it and play, or don't get it and sit out. (Assuming all this anti-vax stuff is correct.)
