Colliton will not survive the first half of November if the team comes out the gates looking bad. Too much invested in "win now" and the pieces/depth are there to be competitive in theory. If he cannot get juice from these fruit, they'll get a new juicer.

Yeah, I have no problem drafting a Russian in the 4th….a 5’6” 150lb Russian is a stretch in any round though.

Is there anyone left to offer a PTO to? I was hoping that we would have a look at Gusev before the Leafs nabbed him.

Oiler GM Kenny Holland announced that one of his players is unvaccinated and will miss 30 games (and $) because of it.

The league minimum salary is not hay...you'll have that one year salary invested?

I am not so sure know the fortunate position I am in as a pro athlete and big dollars coming my way for a short time, that I hesitate at complying.

I was about to make up some raunchy Elbows action and then was gonna say, 'I would let Elbows____(action verb)_________ to get paid that much.", but he probably has the $ to make me his pin cushion.

Last season, record through the first 25 games:

13-7-5=31 points. 11 of those games went to OT - they were very good at getting games to "extra time".

Record for the last 31 games:

11-18-2=24 points. They were able to get only 5 games to OT, as the goaltending and the PP regressed.

Thats my point. The league is so bad that they had all those opportunities at those garbage points.

The math I've argued is that they would need to do nothing different and only gain a net 50 goals (over 82 games) to get into the playoffs.

Obviously there was some subtraction involved but the net goals added by Jones, Toews a full year of Dach and Johnson alone should provide that boost which should also help Kane get up over 100 since there will be other guys on the ice that can "make them pay".

Tyler Bertuzzi on DET not vaxxed either. They say he will not travel to Canadian games. So, players are "allowed" to play while not being vaxxed, but they aren't allowed to travel between countries, so effectively they cannot play (at least a percentage of games).

Also, Ken Hitchcock - yes Hitch - will rejoin the organization as a coaching consultant. #stlblues

Yeah, apparently Duncan Keith was a holdout up until very recently - he's missing training camp week one waiting for the second shot to kick in fully.

I understand Keith has his own approach to health and wellness (Onnit, etc.) and there are differences of opinion on here, but I cannot understand a teammate watching what Toews has been going through because of COVID and deciding not to take the only protection available as soon as it's available.

Yes, Toews mentioned in an interview about his return that they suspect what he has been dealing with is long COVID related. He thinks he had a bad case back in Feb 2020 before it was widespread in North America.
