If we doubters in what is being portrayed to us should believe how about showing a little science to this instead of just saying to follow the science with none shown. This is a hockey blog but politics invades everything nowadays. I am vaccinated. I will not be getting any booster shots. Two people close to me who were vaccinated developed blood clots and had strokes with no previous symptoms. One of them died. Cancel culture prevents any of this information from being disseminated. All we have is what media and its censors allow you to hear.
There are two sides to almost everything and too often we are only allowed to hear one.

I mean, the typical vaccine takes 3 or 4 years to get to a state that it's used en masse. This was a fraction of that. So yeah, it was definitely rushed (for good reason). There was a race between companies and countries to produce a vaccine, so yeah, it was definitely politics and profit. So all that is true.
But, being rushed to production does not mean it didn't go through the same testing, and pass all the same clinical trials, which it did. Fact is, science and technology moves much faster than it did 10, 20, 30 years ago, by orders of magnitude. So, rushing something like this is much more possible than it was 10 or 20 years ago.
simply being "rushed" hardly counts as a reason not to trust it, IMO. Trusting it or not, really is the part that is mostly politicized.
Truth is learned, not told.

Treating something, and vaccinating against it are two very different things, and while true they've found things that can treat it, like Remdesivir, none of those treatments are as effective as vaccinating.
They also haven't discarded them, they're actually still studying these things, in fact.

waht really frustrates me about the morons calling the vaccines experimental, because it's the first time mRNA vaccines have been used on people, is not only that they've been developing the vaccines for 30 years, but more importantly, it COMPLETELY ignores that several of the vaccines are "viral vector", which are not new and have been used in the past for other viruses.
Anyone arguing these are experimental should shut their mouths and elect to get an AZ or Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

at the end of the day, though, this is true. We can't force someone to get vaccinated, IMO. Of course, it's also the Blue Jackets right not to expose their other players to an unvaccinated player.
So, I don't really see what all the ruckus is about. Rinaldo made his choice, the Jackets made theirs, and everyone can move on with their lives. No need for anyone to get all worked up about it. His choice, but he can't play. So be it (that's me shrugging my shoulders and not caring).

With all of the revenue the league has lost due to covid its no wonder the organizations are supportive of vaccines. It's no different than any other place of employment that puts rules and guidelines in place. Either abide or seek employment elsewhere. If I travel I get tested... business or personal, vaccinated or not. Inconvenience maybe.... but losing my income would be worse. I certainly wouldn't allow Alex Jones to dictate my logic.

Private businesses can force their employees to do whatever they want for safe conditions of employment. Unions are falling in line. The big ones too. Aint nobody winning a supreme court challenge on this one Canada or USA. Similarly private businesses can refuse entry to their establishments for ANY reason. People have become so entitled it's staggering.

politics in the USA is a mess.
My personal opinion is that this stems from the elimination of the fairness doctrine in1987.
Not that it's perfect everywhere else, but it's a particularly big mess in the US. You can't really look at everyne as American anymore. It's two groups of people, and they don't in any way behave as one cohesive group anymore. they're very much pitted against each other.
Steve Yzerman says every player is vaccinated except Tyler Bertuzzi, who chose not to.
As it stands now, being unvaccinated would mean Bertuzzi cannot play when the Red Wings go to Canada.
