Many people believe that Michael Bunting and Nick Ritchie fit well within the top-six. I think it’s worth trying Mikheyev beside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, though. Part of that is because I believe change is good.

There will be a difference with the Matthews line either way. However, for Mikheyev, I think it would be a breath of fresh air, which could benefit the Leafs overall.

Finally…… a smart person 👍

There are no good LW options. Kerfoot is probably going to have to play there. Then I’d give Gusev a shot.

Kerf Papi Mitch
Goose JT Styles

I’m done with whatever it is Mikheyev does out there. Just skates around avoiding contact at all costs. That’s not how you win hockey games.

I’d just like to see him produce a little bit more… maybe pencil him in on the second PP unit and bump him up if he shows he can

I doubt gusev makes the team, hes just not that good.
Put ritchie with am, Kerfoot with jt and willie.
Mickey can stay in the bottom 6 unless he figures out how to hockey with the puck.

He had a poor season, he could turn it around. Not his biggest fan but if he can find a little hockey sense he might be ok in the top 6.

Him and Engvall and a scorer wouldn’t be bad either.

Hopefully out of the kids and new guys we have two guys to add to the top 6 so that Kerfoot can play on the third line. I think he was fine on the second but that he’s far more valuable with Kampf and Mik in a shutdown role.

That depends on the person tbh, there are always people who like attention a lot, the ones who hate it, and the others who are in between

That feeling as a person can make this existence positive at times irregardless of the success, not everyone, but some

- Dozzer

For sure. You gotta be the type of person who wants it I guess. I used to think I was, but now I’d want to be somewhere warm and quiet. SJ/ANA/FLA.. perfect.

Too many softies in the top 9.. They’re way too easy to play against. Mikheyev would be okay if Mitch/Willy weren’t already the two softest players in the league.

We’ll see, we don’t have much else that can keep up.

Not sure Ritchie showing up after the whistle helps the line too much.

Maybe Bunting, I haven’t seen him play yet.

Robertson Engvall Mikey for line 3.

1st instance Mikey looks off an open man and loses the puck he’s sent to line 4

Mik can’t score on breakaways. He can be useful on a checking line. He has negative value on the top line

31 last year, 66 the year before. He scored a bunch back in Russia on a team that scored lots.

100k is a lot of money tho.

I’d rather play in ARI for 100k more, actually make the team, and enjoy a more quiet life.

Playing for the Leafs would honestly suck unless they’re were winning all the time.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Problem is if he doesn’t crack Arizona’s team he is done in the nhl.

Better to take a short 1 year deal with a good team and work your way down instead of going to the worst team in the league.

I’ve noticed that it’s not just you two. In fact there’s quite a bit of it going around. I’m going to look into it (under cover). I’ll get back to you.

There’s no way he turned down a contract in favour of a PTO with the Yotes. Although if Simmonds write it…..

I like kerfoot but he just doesn’t have a role with this team. I don’t feel like he has enough offensive upside to play in the top 6.

He is also wasted in the bottom 6. I think a defensive shutdown guy can play the same role for less money.

Hard to imagine him not making the yotes. I thought he played well in Toronto, but they didn’t reward him with a fair contract.
