A real shame about Sam Morin's injury. Was hoping to see him in the lineup for some games to punch faces when needed and play some solid physical D. Def a serviceable 7th D IMHO. Not keen on AHL 7th D replacements of Seeler and/or Glendening. Perhaps look into signing UFA Brayden Coburn or Luca Sbiza at NHL minimum for a 7th D replacement? For the number of games Big Sam would probably have played, either Coburn or Sbiza would suffice. . .any other longer-term injuries York will be brought up so they won't be relying on a 7th D too much. - Flyer Judge

Thanks! Been hear since forever just lurking. . .don't often feel the need to post. Hopefully, I'm misinformed on Morin's injury and it's not too bad. I want him to succeed especially after all he's been through. Seems like a real good kid and continues to push that boulder uphill. Go Flyers! |

We can't have nice things.
Depth moves looking good as I'm sure we will resemble a

Sounds like Morin isn't seriously hurt. Hopefully we get some good news on Allison today too. - Dkos
Imagine asf getting something wrong. I wonder who his source is, and if it will be trusted in the future. |

I don't know about that, but I watched the 2nd rookie game and I was not too impressed with Frost, he couldn't win a faceoff to save his life! The player that looked best to me was Ratcliff believe it or not. He's a big kid that is not afraid to use his size, and he has an effective reach and protects the puck well. - jd250
He won 60 percent of his draws yesterday. |

Never been a fan of his. How irresponsible to post that information when he obviously did not have legitimate information.

I didn't have the stats from the game, just my viewpoint watching the game from that one center ice camera, where it seemed he lost every faceoff he took. Glad to see it was better than what I thought. But overall, and granted Frost is just starting play games again, how did he look to you? I noticed he played almost every other shift so its seemed Lappy was giving him plenty of work, but to me anyway, he didn't seem to do a lot. I was hoping to see more from him given he was playing against rookies. |

I thought he was outstanding in the first game, decent in the second. The Flyers collectively didn't handle tight checking by the Rangers side very well in the latter 30 mins of the game yesterday. That includes Frost . However, Frost had Foerster set up right where he wanted in inside the left dot with a tie game on his stick during the 6-on-5 in the final minute. Foerster is usually money from that spot but this one missed the net.

You don't need to have the stats to differentiate between not being able to win a faceoff to save his life and winning 60% of his draws. |

Doesn't matter - if it turns out that Morin really is fine, ASF should be fired.

What he may have had -- and I don't know if his source was the same as mine but I suspect it was, because I'd heard the exact same thing on Saturday he reported yesterday -- was someone credible enough for the reporter take the info higher in the org for confirmation or denial. But until you get that or the player himself confirms, it's wiser just to hold off on it for however long is necessary. It's frustrating, but it's a safeguard against putting out exaggerated or wrong info.
Ant must have felt he had sufficient confirmation even in lieu of GM/AGM on the record or player on/off record. |

He jumped the gun before a definitive source confirmed it. He didn't fabricate something. It's not something you'd fire someone over. |

He wanted to be first instead of being correct. He has done this throughout his career.

Yes, I saw that late chance by Foerster, but it happens. I didn't know the games were being streamed until yesterday so only watched the 2nd game. Good to know Frost was better in the first game. Given the shifts he was taking, its possible he was tired down the stretch yesterday. |

Morin has had more than his fair share of injuries and is once again trying to get healthy. ASF should know better than to spread an unsubstantiated rumor like that about him. He did it for the attention/clicks. Imho that makes him untrustworthy. What good is an untrustworthy reporter? |

In this case given all I had was the center ice camera that didn't zoom into each zone, in fact it was behind the play most of the time which was very frustrating. I probably thought Frost was loosing faceoffs when he wasn't even on the ice. I can't imagine as a team the Flyers won the majority of faceoffs yesterday. |

What bothers me more is that most people on this forum don't believe Morin is an NHL defenseman, never mind a 7th defenseman. I actually think Morin is pretty good and if he actually could stay healthy and play consistently, he can be a real solid defender in the NHL. I love his attitude, grit and size, something any team, especially the Flyers need. |
