Bummer it’s NYR or back to juniors for him. Missed the 20 AHL game minimum last season by 2 games. Feel like he would benefit more playing against men with the type of player he projects to be.

the good news is that for a 60th overall pick, he's looking like a hell of a prospect at this point

That could definitely be a huge win by Gordon as someone else mentioned yesterday. As time goes by, those firings could look worse and worse as some of his moves and picks make their way into the Rangers lineup. Likely just needed a little more patience.

At the same time I think we have to give Drury a few drafts and offseasons before we can really judge him

Absolutely, all we can do it support and root for Drury. In all likelihood, had he not been promoted he’s probably out the door within the next few years to take a similar role elsewhere. That would have hurt too.

Rasmus Dahlin, 3 years 18 million

one of worst second contracts for first overall pick in recent memory

Given how he's played I would think bad for Buffalo. It's only 3 years though. How many more years until he's a UFA?

25 years old he'll be eligible to be UFA, so when contract expires, he'll be 24 and an RFA and then if he works out they'll probably sign him very long term at that point

It's not the worst contract ever. It's only 3 years and if he really gets on track hopefully for Buffalo's sake he signs long term.

I still think there's a really good player there. He probably shouldn't have jumped in to a bad team as an 18 year old and he certainly doesn't have jack poop in the way of talent surrounding him to help him along. I think the Sabres mismanaged him and it stunted his growth.

what killed him was that they were so stupid to fire Phil Housley

he was the perfect coach for Dahlin and had a very solid rookie year

they just do dumb things over and over there

Kaprizov, 45m x 5y... 9m per.

Im terrified of Fox's contract right now.

- aecliptic

Fox's contract negotiation doesn't scare me one bit, he'll either try and be the highest paid D man in the league/close to it, or he'll take a deal that will allow him to play for a team that competes for multiple Stanley cups while cementing a legacy that puts his name amongst the likes of Leetch, Messier, and Richter.

He either wants to be paid, or wants to be remembered like those guys, in the salary cap era sadly you don't really get both.

With the emphasis Drury put on the C issue, there is no doubt there will be a Captain on the ice opening night.

Gallant talking to media now. Says Lafreniere will get a chance to play some RW.
