Are you making fun of D?
- paulr

Nope, was not meant as a put down. Well, there’s really no easy way out of this one, so I’ll just move on.

So is Jordan Staal, are the Hurricanes expecting him to fall off the cliff this year?
- LAHawk

Not like there's all that far for him to fall anymore even though he did bounce back last season.

But yeah, they expect him to fall off a cliff sooner rather than later. Kotkaniemi is his replacement.

3 out of Borgstrom, Nylander, Gaudette, Kurashev, Connolly, Strome, and Carpenter would have to be "someplace else" to make room for Reichel. If you want Reichel to play Center it becomes more complicated.

I would give him an entire year in Rockford perhaps minus a game or two. I wouldn't get close to 10 games because it could make a mess of things. Everything changes if some of those guys are moved or there are a couple of injuries.

if reichel is too good then you send down kurashev and trade or send down carpenter and Connelly. strome gaudette and borgstrom would get picked up on waivers.

If he's physically and mentally ready for The Show, AND he's better than three of them, he should stay, imo.

Don't think you can tell that in camp?

Put Carpenter on IR "upper body injury." We'll never get him to LTIR. He needs to beat out Kurashev to play Center. That still makes him at least the 5th Center with Strome and Johnson. I don't want either of those two playing Wing and I don't want Reichel playing Wing.

Strome needs to go and Kurashev belongs on the big club starting with their second game, if his cap hit impacts the cap on day one. Carpenter is another one that can go, although his cap hit is easy to hide. I’d like to see Reichel start out in Rockford, unless he wins a job in training camp, but starting at the Rock will probably help his development. Although I like Johnson, I’m not sure Stan needed to bring him in at his cap hit, especially for three years, time will tell.

That shut him up for good since he comes on to insult people. Its an open forum we all have are opinions on hockey and the blackhawks. Not everyone is going agree with other peoples insight analysis and opinions that point of the blog. Elbows i agree strome needs to be traded there is not fit on the hawks team. Trade him to team that needs a center and get what can back if its another reclamation project so be it.

you couldn't fit your hockey knowledge on a flea's ass.

So you don't consider contributions like "He's a center" or "He's a RW" invaluable?

No, not really. Can't really expect much from a guy who spent most of his life being stuffed in lockers.

Very welcome news

@MarkLazerus
Nothing but positive reports about Jonathan Toews' conditioning as informal workouts continue. In fact, three people in and around the team have told me that he looks particularly strong. "He's absolutely jacked," one person told me. "Ripped."

- pdx2ord

Nice. I've been saying for a while that it sounded like he was past the issues that Covid triggered. The guy is a competitor and while age catches everyone, I think he has some good hockey left.

Just saying:
Re: current Blackhawk suit investigations.
The Hawks organization circled their wagons in a tip-lipped support for two big time Patrick Kane issues, the second one involving sex.

I have no idea what is false or true, but at ten million a year I don't think Kane or Toews foggy memories change.

When I first saw that post, I thought it was about Kane, but then I wondered if it has to do with this on-going investigation. Why is anyone bringing up the Kane issues, when both of those already had their day in "court" (legal or otherwise)?

I have reversed my prior support for the NHL to participate in the Olympics based on the testimony provided last week by McKayla Maroney, gold medalist.
Further, I will not support the Olympics or the US FBI until they completely clean out the utter filth permeating both organizations.

The Olympics are a farce. The sooner everyone comes to grip with this fact, the sooner we can forget about them permanently and move on.
