We live on a fairly busy street but near a ravine and golf course so lots of foxes, coyotes. Weirdest thing I saw was a coyote and fox trotting down together (not really together but maybe 8 feet apart) moving in the same direction along front lawns, both turning off the street onto a side street. I see this fox in this area a lot. He was certainly aware of the coyote but not freaked. - Canada Cup
I was talking in line to the dude next to me, and he says that a few years ago, a beaver did damage to a tree in his backyard.
When my kids were in public school, they had a lockdown, because there was a deer in the playground.

Long line, because they only have one person checking the ID.
Then six people operating the actual voting booths - so of course there's no lineup there.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the ID desk was going to be the bottleneck.
Frustrating. - Atomic Wedgie
same, ID check and contact tracing was only one station with 1 person. Then 7 voting booths with 2 people allowed at each station.
Should not have been that difficult to see the problem. |

1 hour for me too. Long line but it moves well. Bring a coffee. - The Law
3.5 minutes for me. Noticed nobody in the parking lot as I was going back to work. |

Feel good voting story...
There was a woman in front of me who had sparked up a conversation with a man in front of her. I would say both were early 70's. At one point I heard the man say his wife had passed away on Christmas day 5 years earlier, not sure what the rest of the conversation was.
When the polls opened, the woman helping asked these two if they were in the same household. Of course they said "no". The woman helping said, "Oh I'm sorry, seems like I am playing matchmaker in the polling lines.". The woman spoke up and said, "That's OK, we seem to be doing well enough on our own."
I finished just after the woman, and the man was waiting for her. They spoke a bit, walked to her car, and then they walked towards the park together behind where the poll was.
I'll tell myself that one day that'll be the story of how they met |

Advance polling for me for the last 10 and I'll never wait to vote on election day because of the summabytch Murphy and his stupid laws that would prevent me from being able to do so.
Sucks that you can't vote Joel, hopefully your right and it doesn't make a difference.
I will await the actual % of eligible voters who voted and be disappointed with the voter apathy as I am every election. - Cush29
For those who do vote, part of me wonders just how much thought citizens put into their decision. Not a whole lot, I suspect as a lot of votes being cast are tribal: "I'll never vote Liberal/Conservative/NDP/Martian - they're the worst!".
At the very least, we tend to be a bit more heterodox here in Canada and sway from election to election. Then again, it may likely be that we're less heterodox and more "man, the Libs (frank)ed us last time I'm going Conservative this time!". So there's that at play too.
(of course, this is my reductive hot / anecdotal bullpoop take on elections, so nothing to see here) |

Agree, he was brought in for a top-six role. Tenth overall pick, great shot and good hands 26 points in 14 playoff games in his final year for the Soo. Big body, like many before him Dave Andrychuck for example, a big left winger that will compliment a line with scoring prowess. - winsix
You're (frank)ing kidding me with this comparison, right?
And Soo Greyhounds stats this far into his NHL career?? |
