Didn't he already make the team last season? He played well in his 20 games in 19-20, too. Hard to believe there's any doubt in the front office that he's NHL ready.

It's just a matter of health/rust and winning the battle for 3C now.

If they didn't have any doubts, they wouldn't have signed Brassard.

Another body to throw at the gnarly sked and injury/rust insurance on Frost probably played into the decision more.

Bossing AHl? Not sure what that means. So playing against rookies, some of whom haven't played pro hockey indicates he is ready for the NHL?

At the very least it's confirmation that he's back to 100% health.

Exactly. And if he was NHL ready before and he is back to that level then he should be NHL ready again. He is showing that he is ready for more, imo

We'll see how he matches up with NHL players at camp and in preseason but at the very least it's positive that it seems he's fully healed and was fully focused on training to gain muscle/weight. Shows that he's committed to doing what it takes to make the show and that bodes well whether he makes it or not. Even some A time probably wouldn't be a bad idea as he looks to regain his game. Some prospects just take a little bit longer to find their way.

Seems like semantics for the same thing.
