So the owner tells TO (boooo) media we will get a top 4 D and a tops 6 fwd and we sign Ennis and del Zotto. Sounds about right.

Ennis really wtf we have players in the system to do what he can
Come on PD wake the fk up 🤦‍♂️

I'm not exactly thrilled with the Ennis move, but in defence of it...
- Ennis has pretty good history with Smith
- he's listed as a LW/C/RW, so it shouldn't be an issue to line him up at #3/4RW
- the last time he was with the team was the best season he's had over the past 5yrs
- it's technically just a PTO

Plus, if they're going to give Logan Brown a genuine chance to actually put up some points at the NHL level, you have to ask if you'd rather see him line up with a guy like Tyler Ennis at RW, or Austin Watson.

Ennis played a lot of center in Ottawa, so one has to wonder where the coaching staff sees him lining up.

People can whine and cry about the coach not playing him, but Brown has every opportunity to make the team or be cut. Time to sink or swim.

Agreed. He is a turtling jerk who tries to injure people. The entitlement attitude is sickening.
Meanwhile he was not very good last year. Highly overrated. Brady is better in my view.

As for Mathew Tkachuk's comment, he can quite honestly go f$%k himself. Is there a more gutless and annoying pr!ck in the entire NHL? I mean this is probably his impression of how best to support his brother in the final days of a tough contract negotiation, but Mathew could learn an awful lot from Brady about how to play the game right, and be a genuine class act.

This was a very calculated comment, I really believe this! Nobody in the family makes a comment like that unless the others are aware!

Per Brown, his agents can cry about how he's been jerked around all they want - dude cannot stay healthy. Shades of Nolan Patrick. Work on that core, because if you're a giant and you fold like a deck of cards with a long term injury after 10 games every season, people are gonna start calling you 'glass' something. We just bought out some glass hands a year ago. Kind of makes me feel bad for Cody Glass.

Seriously though, this team needs C depth, and it is the perfect place for Brown to make serious inroads to the NHL, if only he were to perform. Put your feelings aside, play your best hockey, and don't get injured for the season - at the very least you will work your way up to having trade value again.

LB may turn out to be the perfect second line center for a second line LW called Tkachuk.

They played really well together two years ago and I'm thinking Timmy gets to be number one LW even this year possibly.

I may be dreaming in Technicolor but so what. What do I know anyway?

Pinto is not ready yet and needs another year in Belleville so it's the perfect time to find out.

I keep thinking back to how Brown played with Batherson and Nick Paul in the AHL a few years ago. Why not try them together in a pre-season game? Just a thought.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this deal mean that Logan Brown has to clear waivers if he gets sent to the AHL again? So either he makes the team (and the team gives him a fair shot) out of camp, he gets claimed on waivers (very likely) and gets a new start, or it forces the team to get what they can for him rather than lose him for nothing (like Balcers).

Win for the player IMO. And at least the Sens will know what to do with him.

Prediction.....he gets hurt in camp and nobody wins. Cuz that's Logan Brown. Hope he does well tho.

- GrimmdaGoalie

Exactly, no way he clears waivers as SJ even called Ottawa again last week on Brown. Between AZ, STL, SJ and Carolina, all had interest in him. Ottawa cant afford to lose him on waivers the way they did with Balcers this past season.

Well, they've been after a RW and a C for the entire summer, and Ennis took all of 14 faceoffs in 2019/20, to go along with just 14:42min/GP of ice time (well behind Pageau, Tierney, and White)... then played an even lesser role last year in Edmonton. So it's hard to see Ennis having a shot at such a prominent role on a PTO, especially with an almost complete lack of NHL-level competition for the #3/4RW role.

Even if he makes the team it won't be long term because he'll still want out. If they waive him he doesn't clear. So either way he's gone. The exhibition games will raise his value. I've never watched the Sens practices but I have a feeling that he's not a practice player and that's the kiss of death on a Smith team.

You know, it might just be that Brown is too much of a one-dimensional player to be effective on a 3rd/4th NHL line, but not good enough in terms of speed/skill to crack an NHL top-6 and produce consistently against NHL-quality d-men. It's the exact same reason that guys like Abramov, Da Costa, Petersson, Chlapik, Prince, Dahlen, and Puempel are playing in Europe... which is a list that already includes a 1st round pick, three 2nd round picks, and three immensely skilled but physically outmatched forwards.

Like I said before, Logan Brown has really got to find a way to make his mark, and define his NHL identity with his play. On the surface, he's a 6'6 forward who doesn't hit, a pretty good skater for his size but not compared to smaller players, an offensive player who doesn't score goals, and a C who isn't very good at faceoffs. So he better start becoming pretty damn noticeable when it comes to play-making, PP presence, puck-transition, and defensive positioning, or else what's the point of even having him on the roster?

So Brady was aware and agreed to saying he is the most important part of the team and the captain? Wonder what his team mates think of that.

Imo it was one idiot blabbering who obviously suffers from tkachuk syndrome

Prefer to just be unjustifiably grumpy about things, without any evidence base? Suit yourself. There's a pretty clear commonality across those players, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.

As an aside, it's hard not to love the early viewings of Angus Crookshank. For an undersized guy he plays with a ton of determination, and has a pretty solid set of puck skills including a great shot. He feels like the kind of guy who could eventually play his way onto the main roster, possibly as early as next season.

I may be dating myself here, but you know who Logan Brown reminds me of?
Adam Creighton. Or perhaps Chris Gratton. But more Creighton for me...just the way they play. Big men, that played small finesse games. Always one move too many and never quite impacted the game the way they were expected too.

There is no comparison between Brown and these 2 players except for size. Creighton had no vision or creativity. Chris Gratton had nothing except size and a bit of snarl to his game. Actually DJ would love him because he was a big stupid hard working hockey player.
