I think the Blues would match up to the top of the tier you mentioned and figure their cap situation out after.

They are a bare minimum roster right now (12, 6, 2) and are at the cap.

That's with Nolan Patrick still to be signed and Tuch on IR.

Who is playing the 6th D spot if Hague is part of the deal? Whoever does will cost at least as much as he does against the cap.

Might have to be Dadonov and Smith with no Tuch due to the Vegas cap situation.
