Watched the Embedded from the Draft...
A day after trading him, Kevyn Adams gets a call from Sam Reinhart and said "I feel bad because I really believe in you and Donny to get this right, and he appreciated that he (Adams) did the best to put him in the best spot for a clean slate"
That sounds like a stand up guy to me - Stripes77
I'm sure eichel will make the same phone call.. |

Jeremy Rutherford reports the contract standoff continues between the Blues and restricted free agent Robert Thomas. The 22-year-old forward is coming off his entry-level deal with little leverage except if he signs an offer sheet with a rival club.
The Blues have almost no cap space left for the coming season. If a team signed Thomas for between $2.055 million and $4.11 million and the Blues declined to match, they’d receive a second-round pick as compensation. |

Would be a nice Addition, and we just happen to have a extra 2nd next year, so losing our 2nd wouldn't hurt as much.
Edit: whoops that extra 2nd is in 23 |

Say the Sabres did that with Thomas and St. Louis declined. Does that change the climate for a Eichel trade on what Adams would be willing to take back. |

CapFriendly has St. Louis with $781K in cap space and a full roster while Evolving Hockey has Thomas contract predicted at $2.1M for 2 years.
St. Louis could demote one of their D men and that would free up another $750K.
If they waive a forward, they can fit Thomas, unless he's looking for some kind of big pay day. |

From his perspective, he's worth more than Mitts [email protected] deal. KA didn't do him any favors there.

Evolving Hockey has both Thomas and Mittelstadt getting almost identical deals at either $2.1M per for 2 years or $2.5M per for 3 years. |

Interesting, Thomas has about 50% more NHL points than Mitts. I wouldn't put equal projections on them.

Like Thomas, think he needs a change of scenery. Plus he can play C and RW. |

As you know, EH uses a robust formula, but a key aspect for Thomas that plays a part is he did not have a good season last year, and he was out of the lineup for almost 2 months. |

maybe they should go full caniac: 1yr/$6m
edit: cancel that...not for a first and a third...$4.110732m is the highest for a second rounder |

he only took 22 shots for some reason...had a 13.6% shooting percentage |

Not calling it crazy or anything. Thomas has performed worthy of that deal, where as Mitts is more on draft position and potential.
