Who's going to take the starter job in Toronto? I feel like Mrazek is at best a 1B. I'd be using Campbell mostly maybe a 60/40 split in Jack's favor. Is that how Leafs fans see this playing out as well?

Most likely.

Can see the team trying the opposite, though. Since they just signed Mrazek for 3 years and want to see if he can take the lead.

Pretty much.

Jack will get the reigns to start and see how he plays. If he stumbles mrazek will be given every shot. If jack plays well I think he gets the 65% of the starts.

I agree with this.

Campbell has earned the right to be considered the starter.

Looking at the division rivals on paper - the Leafs 'should' be good. Goaltending aside the Leafs match up nicely. Get 'er done or blow it up.

Should be a very competitive division.

Oddly enough, I'm quietly confident about the defence this year.

Which is a weird feeling as a Leafs fan.

Defense is what I am most worried about.

I am quietly confident about goaltending however, which is probably an opinion that will age poorly.

Defense to me is still the biggest concern..

I don't know if Muzzin can be healthy all year, how Rielly plays defensively, if Sandin is ready to make the jump..

I do have faith in Campbell and Mrazek.. Which isn't saying much, because Andersen was terrible last season.

Outside of the defense, my biggest worry is the bottom 6 forward group.

If Ritchie is on the top line and Bunting steps up to the 2nd line, then we haven't really improved the bottom 6 that much. Especially, if they do trade Mikheyev

Ya me too. I get the concern about Holl/Dermott/Sandin at 4-6 but I'm looking at Florida and Boston's blue lines .....

Not many teams in the league have #4D that are like Wow...

Muzzin will be fine

until the playoffs

Also I think they can create a good shutdown 3rd line around Kampf

Our bottom six is a black hole. There's literally no discernible offence there. Big four in the top six gotta do ALL the lifting.

Be$t of luck, boy$!

It should be better defensively with Kampf, but I don't know how many minutes he'll actually get..

Is Kampf the 3 or 4C? Does Kerfoot move up to 2LW or stay at 3C?

If I had to guess, I would say;

Ritchie-Matthews-Marner
Bunting-Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kase
Engvall-Kampf-Simmonds/Spezza
