there's really no other way Pat. either playoffs Price shows up, or they'll draft early.
they don't have an elite dcore, nore an elite group of forwards. good depth on the wings but no stars, no center line...

- fidopro

they're not "elite" or the "cream of the crop", but they're not that terrible either. they lost Weber and Danault, but there's still some good elements on that roster, they just made it to the finals for (frank)'s sake.

again, do not compare regular season and playoffs hockey. you're better than this.
I didn't say they ere terrible. but they are not elite. no Kucherov, no McDavid.
our McDavid wears the big pads. either he plays like a star or they'll golf early. as simple as that.

We have plenty of depth to compensate for the lack of star power.

And we do have 2 elite forwards in the making in Suzuki and Caufield.

Our defense isn't there yet, but it will be when Jordan Harris comes over and has an immediate impact.

Price will have a good season and Allen will back him up when we need him to!

Suzuki will be better, Dvorak will show a new level with better wingers, Poehling will surprise at camp and Evans is almost Danault at a fraction of the cost!

IT'S HAPPENING!

I thought it was already clearly established that we were on opposite sides of the optimism/pessimism spectrum...

I don't think it's that ludicrous to think they'll make the playoffs. if they have a terrible season and miss them, oh well, I'll be wrong, and it wouldn't be the 1st time lol

but the depth won't compensate for the high end talent. we saw that last year at 3x3.
and like you said, Suzuki and Caufield could become elite but they're not there yet.

I think they could make the playoffs. but for that to happen they'll need playoffs Price to play 55 games. can he do it?

It's been a while since we've seen Price go a full season without having some injury.

It's most likely gonna mean Allen plays at least that amount imo.

Which is fine. That's why he's here.

At a very reasonable cost.

lol, what I'm saying is if Price isn't injured (touche du bois) then Allen should be perfectly fine, since he wouldn't be relied upon as a #1.

I don't care if Price plays 40 50 or 60 games.
if he plays like last winter they're dead. if he plays like this summer, they have a chance.

I'd say they'd have more than "a chance" if he did, but playing at that level for a whole season is unlikely. if he provides solid goaltending consistently and gives the team a chance to win, rather than being swiss cheese, it should be enough.

BOS
TB
FLA
TOR
WASH
PIT
NYI
CAR
PHI
NYR

they need to beat 3 of these teams. PHI and NYR seem to be the only options tbh. keep an eye on them eary in the season. it will be tough!

heavy competition for sure, and it looks like it could be a race till the very end between a few teams. there are bound to be surprises and deceptions as well lol

I think Bergeron mentioned he's gonna consider retiring after this season, depending on how he feels, so...
