Not really. Remember what old people thought of your music when you were young? You've just become the old person.
There's actually a lot of great music being made these days, across all genres.

I hear what you're saying. I'm obviously older than most. My music is late 60s to late 70s. It's not that I don't hear newer stuff. My roommate in Jersey has a recording studio. Since freakin 1975. I've heard it all, cutting edge. Weird stuff. Some of the bands I like have put music out for decades. I have over 100 albums on my phone. Over 40 artists. If I listen to 10 hours a week it's a lot. At the end of the day, I start with what I like the best and work my way down.
I like progressive rock and jazz.
But I respectfully disagree that that era of music is not the best genre and music of all time. My favorite songs usually are 8-10 minutes, sometimes longer.
Sometimes being stuck in the best era is actually ok.
