Absolutely NO WAY that Jake Guentzel doesn't make the roster. He's played his entire professional career under USA's head coach and won a Cup with him.
It's pretty common for Olympic coaches to show favoritism for players they know.

Slavin is the most underrated defenseman in the league. He’s better than at least 2 of the top 6 (McDonagh and Jones).

Curious what specifically about Fox's game is weak defensively? |

Thank you for making it clear that you only watched highlights of Fox play. Your opinion shall be weighted as such. |

Jake Guentzel is a more then a point per game scorer! How is he not mentioned? - Brianandr1
He really missed this obvious choice. He 100% is on the team. |

Slavin is 100% too. McDonagh wouldn't even make a B team. Also, someone else pointed out that the 4th line doesn't even have a center. Maybe Roenick can add some grit?
Would also suggest that most teams will take 6 or 7 centers and have guys convert to the wing. So this whole roster seems way off base. |

Andrew Copp could center a checking line and kill penalties. Good skater, size, smart, leadership with some experience. |

I don’t necessarily agree with the lines, but this could be one of the more talented teams the Americans have iced. |

Ikr? Best of luck avoiding anything which China has produced. If you can do it, then hey, good on you if that’s your stance. But that’s an uphill battle, for sure. |

How is goaltending the weak point?
Hellebuyck is a perennial Vezina candidate on a team with questionable defense.
Gibson is a top 5 goalie in the NHL. He just can't show it on Anaheim.
Demko makes it over Knight. He's like a younger version of Gibson.
Give any of them some defense (which USA has) and goal support and they'll shine.

My guess is that Pens-haters rationalize it by saying that Guentzel is only good because he plays with Crosby and that without Crosby his numbers would be way down. Really, though, I am hoping that no Pens players make any of olympic teams. I would rather see them use the time to rest instead of getting worn out and risking injury in uncompensated games half way around the world. - PghPens668771 No one likes your team! Thanks!!

Eklund knows nothing about hockey. USA doesn't have the best team, but goaltending is probably the best in the world overall. Vasilevskiy is awesome though. |

Calm down Jesus, Im sure watching sports while rooting for your mafias representatives isnt an action that could define anyone as being truly terrible. It also doesnt enable genocide. Ill also assume youre American and ask when the last time yall werent committing mass murder was? Is boycotting watching the Olympics the new way to stop genocide? For someone so fired up about genocide, i can assume youre overseas hu ting down these genocidal maniacs as we type. Good for you, out there making a difference instead of making baseless accusation at strangers online because it takes attention away from your vaginal ass not doing poop about something that clearly brings you anger. |
