Man wish I could spend a couple weekends at a few of these Colleges, some of the Girls in the stands. Lots of fun to be had

Didn't realize Brown is from Ithaca. Good call

I’d be happy with any eichel trade that gets us turcotte or zegras as part of the package. I loved both those guys in that draft, not a knock at cozensens but I didn’t pay attention to cozens at all pre-draft because I never thought he’d still be on the board when we picked. Anaheim seems unwilling to deal, but if LA is onboard, git r dun.

I wouldn't mind Brown a-tall and it would work money-wise but he has a M-NTC

What's the likelyhood a Stanley cup champion dustin brown ok's a trade to buffalo?

Where the team is clearly "rebuilding "

Just eat some of eichels contract.
Enough with the baskets of berglunds..... TM (baller)

Aaron Dell is on a 2-way deal.

Quick would come back. Add Iafallo and you're there

- Hank Balling

I considered that. But you need to consider that Adams has a high priority of UPL starting. Which means you need to find a place for Anderson to agree to go. I don't think they'd like to take Quick. It makes a lot more sense on paper than it would be to this org.

Beane doing a little more cap management with Poyer, added about 2.6mill in cap space, gives the Bill's around 4m in room

I know you don't like it but that's reality. How many times has Kyvyn mentioned UPL by name? Listen to his reasoning behind signing Anderson. Listen to Anderson's conference call and call in to the Instigators. It's written in sharpie. UPL and Anderson, unless UPL is god awful in camp.

It really is. He's given no indication that he's ready for it, and this team is bad. There's no reason to force it.

Maybe.

He's played 60 games total in the past two years and Dell has Sabres themed pads ready to go.

I'm interested to see how UPL looks in the preseason but the entire idea seems like a mistake

Smart move is to send UPL down, play him 60 games...get him ready for the big time the following season. Call him up as needed for filli-in for injuries. It supports the blatant tank, but with dignity.

If Bjornfot is included, I'll be very surprised. Sabres absolutely don't need another LhD...at least that is how CafFriendly sows him as a left side D.

If Byfield isn't included, Kevy has to get 3 solid players. Turcotte will be a good one, but will take a couple years to get there, IMO. Valardi makes sense as that player who asserted himself last year. As a Right-handed shooter, he could end up as a RW.

I'd love for Fagemo to be that 3rd piece.

Turcotte, Vilardi, Fagemo, 22-1st....and Brown as the Cap Dump...all day, every day.
Hell, go get a '23 -1st by throwing in Oloffson...he's going to bust without Jack giving him wide open nets on the PP. And he doesn't fit the new rebuild timeline as he'll be 28 in 2 years time. Sell high (for once).

You don't eat 5 years of eichel. We are under the floor, you take 2 or 3 players on their last 1 or 2 years of their contract while we don't need the space. Rather than chancing we need space in 4 years and we are still giving money to eichel. You don't retain unless the contract is expiring.

Exactly.
Makes zero sense to hold money on Jack. None.
Yes, other teams will ask, why not.
Don't be an idiot and take on 5 years of dead Cap Space...who would do that?

If eichel is a trade deadline guy, after the Olympics, the return would be tremendous if the Sabres retained.

Eichel this playoff run for 1-1.2 million
7 million
7 million
7 million
7 million

Why would anyone want or expect dustin brown to play for the Sabres?

Eating salary would maximize talent. We're a young cost controlled team the next few years. Move skimmer in 3 years.

*hopefully the young talent on their 1st contracts, makes up some of the cap loss?
The 1st round future picks won't have expiring contracts for 2022 4 years or 2023 5 years . 3 year deals expire.

Apparently they're planning on having UPL be the Sabres starter for a season in which they're trying to be a bad team, so it sounds like the bad management is continuing.

UPL could suprise some people.

He could be ready.

Young team works hard in front of him.
Could be a great opportunity. Kinda exciting.

Yeah, well they are routinely a team that puts young players in advantageous positions so I’m not surprised

Your math is a little off here. Don't know the exact numbers for this season, but there's about 30% of the season left at the TDL. Retain 30% after that, and it means 2.1m of cap $ (not to be confused with space).

It's very tough to pull off, even with a retain.

Based on playing an average of 30 games a year over the past 24 months?

Bad, bad plan imo. Ryan Miller, the last Sabres goalie who was properly groomed, spent years honing his craft between the NCAA and the AHL.

Excellent 👍

2.1m is more difficult to deal with.

Any Hope's for upl?
