I would rather unload Strome and Carpenter and have Connolly 4th line. He's been a winner in the past.

Didn't Connelly play some on a line with Tyler Johnson?

If the Hawks have a 4th line of X-Johnson—Connelly I think they’ll be in pretty good shape.

I can envision the couple big boy college trades/signings in Cam Morrison, Mike Hardman and acquisitions and "Centre" Mackenzie Entwistle, even Big fist Reese Johnson getting developed with call-ups.
I don't think the Blackhawk organization brought them in to not see if they can make an hard impact at the NHL level.
We all gross through the young, mid and low end scorers hoping for growth, but these pounders success may go hand in hand with the room they might provide for the skilled hopefuls already here.

The genius in Tampa drafted him 6th overall in 2010. By 2011-12 he played 68 games for them that year. Stayed a few years, got demoted and traded to Boston. Somehow made it through Washington and Florida. He's been in really good organizations.

When you talk about guys taking space from young guys it's spelled "CARPENTER." He's not over paid he's simply "meh" and never going to be anything. There's a spot to run other guys through. Strome is almost there as well but if we can get something for him make the move. I won't argue Strome could still become a late bloomer that's why players like Sharp or Ken Hodge work out somewhere else. Only a crystal ball can tell you who they are but we're in year 4 now with Strome.

I think Rain had Kubalik on the fourth line because he didn't have him on the 3rd.

#SJSharks have placed prospect Vladislav Kotkov on unconditional waivers

6'4" 209 lb RW/LW. 21 years old. With Stan's focus on size, does he claim him?

Does Kotkov have NHL skating ability? Does he have NHL skill? Does he have NHL hockey intelligence. If the answer to these questions is yes then maybe that long with his size he intrigues Bowman, otherwise his size alone is irrelevant.

Carpenter is fine, ideally he swaps in and out of the line-up with Khaira based on the opponent.

I’m not sold on Hardman, Enwistle, Morrison or Barrett making the team this year, at least to start the season.

I’d expect something like this to start the season (some guys may slot up or down one line):

DeBrincat - Dach - Kane
Kubalik - Toews - Strome
Nylander/Gaudette - Johnson - Hagel
Kurashev - Borgstrom - Carpenter

If Strome’s only spot is on the wing, then he may just as well be in the press box IMO.

Also, Carpenter blows.

Dunno anything about him, just saw the report on Twitter and figured someone may have more insight on the player

No, when Johnson came up to Tampa, Connolly was sent down.

One of the few events I can remember with incredible clarity. My wife called and told me she heard a plane hit one of the World Trade Center buildings. They thought it was a light plane. A little while later the second building was hit. Everyone in the office got on the internet, this was the early days of the internet, and it took forever to get into the news services. A couple of us went to lunch at a local pub and watched in horror, disbelief, incredulity and whatever other adjectives you want to add. The next day one of the local newspapers had a photo of the buildings with one word … BASTARDS ….

Days and weeks later I still couldn’t wrap my head around not only the disaster but the audacity.

RIP to all the victims.

Carpenter is ok 5v5 but nothing to get excited about. All I remember is PP goals when he's on the PK.

I was in the air - flying to Tucson, to visit our maquiladora in Nogales, Mexico.

We took off at 8 - not long after we were up, they told us we were going to land in Des Moines - nothing else, just that. We had no idea, thought maybe there was a hi-jacking somewhere….

After we were on the ground, I called my wife -she told me what had happened. We actually landed in Quad Cities, saw the towers come down on a TV in the airport.

Had we gone a day earlier - or the incident had happened that afternoon - we may have been stuck in Mexico for many days, considering that the border was shut. As it was, we rented a car and drove back to Chicago, listening to the radio all the way.

The last of several “where were you when” incidents that I certainly remember where I was when - JFK, MLK, RFK, 9/11….

And thank you to those dead beats in congress for finally passing a bill in 2019 to fund the 1st responders fund of the survivors who need medical treatment.

Now if they can do the same for military personnel

Doesn’t matter where I was, what mattered was my friend Lenny was on that plane that slammed into the Pentagon, leaving a wife and 2 young daughters. I was so mad, if the army didn’t have a cap of 38 years old, I was ready to enlist.

Well, that sure brings home the impact of the day. Thanks for telling it.

I travelled often in the Northeast for work back then. Had lots of friends and business acquaintances calling me that day, making sure I wasn't flying out of Boston or DC that day, which I often did.

What a horsepoop day that was. It still amazes me - really amazes me - that people actually ran into all three of those buildings to try to save others. I am grateful America (i firmly believe Canada has them, too) has people like that.

Thank you for your story. I can't imagine that day for you or others. Thanks to everyone on that day for their sacrifices & prayers for all others who lost loved ones.

I was six, eating lunch at school when my teacher wheeled in a tv crying to show us news reports. I didn't know the weight & sacrifice then, but I quickly learned.

"Let's roll" are probably the 2 greatest words I've ever heard.
