First bold - that’s exactly what you’re doing

Second - better than what exactly? This is literally the worst it’s ever been. It’s rock bottom. They have a superstar who will never play for them again and has all time low trade value. They just finished dead. Last. Again.

The two good things they’ve done this offseason we’re capitalizing on a strong RD market, and taking the obvious pick at #1.

But yes, it’s not Jason Botterill doing these things so they are ok

Adams owns everything that happened that first year but we equally can't pretend that Krueger didn't factor into that situation.

What he seems to be getting praise for is simply not doing something stupid.

Think about how incredibly low that bar is in terms of lauding performance.

- kingcong39

I dont think I'm lauding his performance. He's doing fine since Krueger left, minus the ill-advised "people who want to be here" line.

If that haunts him in an Eichel return then I'll say so

Yeah I don’t understand how anyone can say this with what’s going on with their best player.

We have been rock bottom for a long time, this didn't start last year. Eichel was on his last leg before last year, they brought in players that would hope push them to a better year and keep Jack happy and it didn't happen. Adams didn't screw up his neck and Eichel has had a hand in his value at this time. Adams hasn't been very impressive but this Organization hasn't been good for a long time.

I'm gonna let the whole situation play out and then assess it. It could be awhile before we have resolution on that

I don't know if he is getting praised but he isn't getting ripped by the ones who never wanted him in the first place and have to support their initial standing that he will be a great failure.

Jack wanted to be traded and Sam was not going to return so his plan was to blow up the old losing guard and walk away from the talent and culture that got them nowhere.

Huge win with the Risto trade; many teams were afraid of Sams's arbitration rights and him winning more than he was worth so he traded Sam in our division for a 1st and a goalie prospect which no doubt was the best he could get.

Many are judging KA even before the Eichel trade is made and saying Jack is at an all-time value low which happens when you have a herniated disc in your neck. Jack may be getting surgery and his value will go up. But KA has held out and not traded him and we do not know what they will receive for him but some who are constantly wrong and have hated KA from the beginning are predicting catastrophe so I have a good feeling about the potential Jack trade and the blowing up of big three and losing all that they brought to the Sabres history and enjoyment of this era for fans.

First year as GM - Finished last

Second year as GM- trying to finish last

Great start I guess?

It's a grand tradition of the Sabres drought to finish last in the first year:

Murray - last
Botterill - last
Adams - last

No Jack and no goalies along with not much else to work with equal Owen Power. 10 years of crap and it was time to put the big three down. Besides Jack who hasn't been traded yet this era is not much to reminisce about. I give KA the credit for having the balls to blow it up and hopefully move on to better things.

The current GM traded Sam Reinhart and Taylor Hall for a total of a late first, late 2nd and C goalie prospect. It’s some of the worst work a GM has ever done.

It’s not comforting knowing he’s leading rebuild 2.0

If/when this team finds its way from the depths of hell I’ll give Adams due credit if he’s still in charge (I doubt it)

Until then in his short time here it’s been disastrous and I can’t really pretend it’s been otherwise

I did really like his draft though

Liked most of Botts drafts, other than that he seemed like a man without a plan.
TM well think everyone knows how I feel about him, IMO we are at were we are now because of his blunders and every GM since has been affected by them.

Would u rather have them take whatever the best offer is right now- just to get it over with?

We should be glad Adams is standing his ground & trying to get the best possible return for Jack

I was glad he was two months ago. Now it’s becoming an issue.

I severely doubt the offers have increased since now he’s inevitably missing part of this season.

Adams overplayed his hand.

Why is it an issue? the Sabres are almost uniquely positioned to hold out for the right offer. He wouldn't be playing either way and he's not losing value. There's no reason to rush into a deal. Everything is fine.

If the Sabres were a playoff team and Hall was with a crud team on the trading block would you want the Sabres to offer a 1st round pick, and a 3rd line player for an 8 million dollar 2 goal scoring winger who has played like crap that year and is a UFA and reportedly only wants to play in Boston?

If the Sabres were in the running for Sam Reinhart to trade for him and he had arbitration rights and he could get awarded a one-year overpaid contract would you want the Sabres to give away the farm for one year of an overpaid Sam Reinhart who reportedly wants to play out west?

Some on here like to think unrealistically regarding trades. Maybe Sam should have been dealt two years ago or something to increase his value.

If the Sabres had a good/great offer on the table he’d have been dealt by now.

Now the only thing that’s different is that he’s going to miss games for whatever team he goes to.

How would his value not be decreasing at this point?

What take? Eichel is still here. He still needs/wants surgery. The recovery time right now puts him into November/December returning.

Every day that goes by is another potential game he’s missing.

Why would a team suddenly offer more now with still no reassurance he’s healthy and potentially missing half the season?

Guess we won't now until it happens.
