Honestly, I think the solution to that offer sheet stupidity is to have salary arbitration available earlier…. Those $15 and $20 bull crap is not good for the League as per my opinion…

Offer sheet should be either monitored better or just replace by independent salary arbitration…

Bergevin probably shortened the term the canes wanted with Aho and in return they gave KK that bloated value offer sheet. I don't want CC and Suzuki to be offer sheeted if the same situation comes up.

Hi Karine! All in all I’m happy with how things worked out. If Evans can progress a bit I think we’ll be in good shape at center! At least to start the season.

As for the Canes depth at center… Trochek and Staal are UFA’s next summer! I don’t think Trochek resigns so I’d expect them to trade him before the deadline or loose him next summer!

I think the Canes will extend KK for Trochek’s current salary.
