Hi Karine,

We'll find out in a few hours if Bergy will let KK walk and take the picks or re-sign him for $6.1 Million. I would not re-sign him. I don't think Bergy will re-sign him, either.

This revenge move by Dundon was not well thought out. KK is a 4th line center right now on the Canes. There is no one that he deserves to play higher over right now. They let their goalie and star defense man leave to pick up a guy who has averaged about 7 goals over the last three years. Next years draft will be deep. The Canes may not draft as low (25th) in 2022, necessarily. They are a weaker team. The Habs may have a lottery pick, after all is said and done.

Two 1st round picks and Romanov for Jack Eichel. If you want to sweeten it (if you must) add a 2nd round pick or Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau. Buffalo then has to pick up 33% of Eichel's salary. Remember that you cannot give up the farm for a guy who is about to undergo sketchy neck surgery.

This is a win/win for the Habs. After scoring five big goals for the Habs in this year's play-off run, KK was scratched for the last two games. Three wins from the Stanley Cup. That is highly unusual. There must be a good reason for the scratch. Hard to fault the coach and GM who helped them get that far and astonished the hockey world.

Put Eichel on a line between Josh Anderson and MIke Hoffman and watch the net ripple.

Curious to know outcome too. I expect KK becomes a Hurricane today too.

If he matches, he is painting himself into the corner…

Just think that we will know that he is not matching but people waiting for a trade announcement will be disappointed…. It will be either no trade or an ordinary one…

They don't have to make a trade right away. It's not like the season will start next week.

I'm a chicken.

Part of me was thinking Bergevin would match cause most gms do, but I don't think he actually can. But he better have a B plan.

if he's using the assets by letting KK go in a trade, he has to get them first. My point is still valid, he doesn't have to announce a trade right away.

If he wants this team to fight for a playoffs spot, he has to make a trade. Before the season start or early on.

He may sits on his hands and keep the picks, but then will lose his job at the end of the year.

Not saying your point is not valid. But MB is a free agent at the end of the year anyways so maybe he doesn’t care
