Loved watching Bolland excel in the playoffs.

The short handed goal against VAN and his overall agitation of the Sedins

His play on the PK leading up to Hossa's OT winner against Nashville.

The check against the Detroit player at center ice allowing Seabs to pick up the puck, skate in and pot the OT game winning goal.

Last but not least the cup clinching goal against the Bruins.

With the possible exception of New York no hockey writers are tougher than Montreal.

Well, thank you Paul. Here's to thinking your "favorite" Canadian team isn't much better. You more than verified what I was merely guessing at. MAF should really enjoy a real sense of anonymity in Chicago, as opposed to north of the border. To an older star, that may mean a lot at this stage of his career.

The sports writers of my “favourite” hockey team can get tough but they’re also willing to give them all the excuses in the world to justify their utter ineptitude.

I do think Crawford was elite.

Kane, Keith, Toews, Hossa....Hall of Fame

Seabrook, Hammer, Sharp....Hall of Damn Good.

Dach isn't playing on a QO. I wouldn't be surprised if an extension isn't announced by the end of the year at the latest.
- Elbows15

Neither would SURPRISE me but he hasn't shown enough yet to get close to $3M at any term. If there's an extension probably the second half of the year.

He also destroyed Torres after the hit on Hossa in the playoffs but the damage was done. Stan I believe should have found a way to keep Buf and perhaps Ladd. Buf really wanted to play defense and Q wanted him parked in front of the net getting his ass kicked which he didn't like doing. Buf would have replaced Campbell he would have had to go sooner.

Defining moment when Pronger learned there was a new Alpha dog in town.

So many other great Buff moments too, running over Luongo, taunting the Canuck crown after a goal, he was in Bieksa’s head all the time.

I would have loved it had Bowman kept Buff and thought it was a huge mistake at the time but it turned out to be the right move.

On another note, can you imagine if there had been no cap! I think the hawks would have had a true dynasty, the 2010 had everything skill, toughness, lots of depth and coul have conceivably won more than three cups.

Some Topics and Observations:
What happens with Covid - do we get fans? can US teams play in Canada and vice versa?
Hawks drafting has been horrendous in the Bowman era, especially with defenseman. So So Sad.

He is going to have to be better than Carlson, McAvoy and Fox. Far from a given based on his performance the last two seasons.

What about the harsh treatment the Leaves get from the local media?

Toronto writers can be tough at first but then they let the leaves off the hook. After 55 years you’d think the writers would be all over them, but they aren’t. The writers actually start the narrative of the Leafs being a great team after the leaves have a good start or look like one of the better teams (in the regular season). But after the team bows out once again the writers are all over them only to re-embrace the great team narrative the following October.

It was Brandon Bollig that went after Torres…and was the only one to get a penalty.

Yep. Buff was traded after the 2010 Cup, and the Torres hit on Hossa was in 2012, I believe.

Not sure if people posted, but since I had asked if anyone had heard what was going on with Sharp's broadcasting career, seems he is returning to his alma mater in Vermont to coach hockey.

And with a face made for TV...alas

It was mentioned in the last blog. I questioned if the Hawks provided a letter of reference, but nobody's talking.
