You’re right, Mo - I wish I hadn’t gotten the vaccine, it’s so ineffective.
I’ll probably wind up being sterile - and I so wanted more children. Of course, I’ve been sterile for 60 years - but I’d hoped to have been cured.
But at least Bill Gates will always know where I am. - StLBravesFan
Did I tell you or anyone else what decision to make on the vaccine? No.
It is possible to choose to be vaccinated AND believe that others should have the right to choose for themselves. |

That’s fine with me. Let them make that decision to ditch out on their teammates during a playoff push. Dock them the pay for the games they miss, and just keep playing the NHL schedule.
Problem solved. - Ogilthorpe2

The Hawks gave up nothing. This suggests that the Habs would've received some candy for taking on MAF.

Perhaps Montreal insisted on sending some salary back? |

It almost was surreal at the time it was happening. Those gents knew how to step on team's necks, and never look back. I, too, feel so honored to have witnessed it. |

Loved watching Bolland excel in the playoffs.
The short handed goal against VAN and his overall agitation of the Sedins
His play on the PK leading up to Hossa's OT winner against Nashville.
The check against the Detroit player at center ice allowing Seabs to pick up the puck, skate in and pot the OT game winning goal.
Last but not least the cup clinching goal against the Bruins. |

Even if Crawford remained technically questionable, throughout this career. What a joke that was, at the time. |

Future blog topic for Theo. Who from the Hawks make the various national teams?
Kane Debrincat. USA
Fleury. Canada
Kubalik. Czech Republic
Reichel. Germany - boilermaker100
I'll have some thoughts on this next week. Maybe not a full blog topic but part of a blog. |

Rumored trade between Coyotes and Canadiens: Dvorak for Poehling with draft picks also part of the swap.
Another rumor from the same source that the Habs don't plan to match the Kotkaniemi offer sheet. Deadline is tomorrow.
FWIW, the source is not any of the major sources. |

Bolland was the best at being a rat because he could also hurt the opponents with a big goal. But making Thornton lose his poop was my favorite. |

Not sure that is true... how many times have I seen on here posters argue how valuable Kruger was as a 4C because he shutdown the other teams best line? Bolland too.
Unless the Hawks had 2 lines on the ice at the same time both can't be true. Either we overvalue Kruger/Bolland or we overvalue the Toews' line over the years. - bhawks2241
Kruger took some of the match-ups against top line. Toews' line was also matched up against the top lines of other teams quite a bit.
Its possible for both to be true. Kruger also was matched against 2nd lines quite a bit to leave Kane's line to go out and bum slay.
it not an either or scenario to me. |

I just learned that a late 1st round pick is actually a 3rd round pick. Honestly there is a lot of luck in drafting. So many things have to go right. You look at Dach's class no one has really stood out yet. - BetweenTheDots

So is the NHL going to suspend these COVID protocols for the Olympics?
• Players will be prohibited from carpooling to games, there will be no road trip roommates, and teams must secure an additional two hotel rooms on road trips in the event of a positive COVID-19 test.
• Players will also only be permitted to go to the rink and hotel on road trips. No other destinations, including bars, restaurants, clubs, etc., will be permitted. - LAHawk
They will most likely have to follow USOC protocols to be on the team. |

According to NHL Trade Talk, the Habs supposedly had a deal in place to acquire Fleury before the Hawks did and that Fleury would have reported to Montreal immediately unlike the drawn out process with Chicago.
Water under the bridge at this point but still found that interesting if the rumor is true. - Theo Fox
Meh. I don't think the process was that drawn out. He took a couple of days to sort out his feelings but he committed to playing pretty quickly.
Montreal is home. Of course that decision would have been much easier. |

I would not be surprised to see Dach play on a one year qualifier next year to help Stan out with the cap. Stan brought him in and started the clock 2 years early vs. Junior and AHL money which has been worth a few $'s million to Dach. - rpeters01
Dach isn't playing on a QO. I wouldn't be surprised if an extension isn't announced by the end of the year at the latest. |

Living in the States, we have no idea about the real antics and pressure regarding the Canadian hockey press behind the scenes. Is it still that bad? Maybe that was something MAF chose to avoid. Nobody is expecting him to carry the Hawks to the SC finals this year. I would think that would allow him a more comfortable approach. (If facing 40-50 SOG's a nite can be seen as a relaxation therapy).

With the possible exception of New York no hockey writers are tougher than Montreal. |
