Probably interference from all the microchips. Surprising that Alberta was affected.

Good one lol

I’ll predict the Flames will be the only Canadian team in a covid bubble. Pretty fitting for a bubble team.

Story coming shortly, but the NHL's COVID protocols for 2021-22 were sent out today. A key detail is a mechanism for suspensions to unvaccinated players who cannot participate in team activities -- on a per-day basis for as long as they are out. (There are some exceptions.)

I'm not complaining, I'll give them the cure for Covid, put one of your 57 guns in your mouth and pull the trigger, you'll never die of Covid.

Huberdeau - McDavid - Marner
Marchand - Mackinnon - Stone
Point - Crosby - Tavares
Couturier - Bergeron - O'Reilly
Horvat, Hall

Nurse - Pietrangelo
Chychrun - Hamilton
Parayko - Makar
Reilly, Tanev

Fleury
Price
Binnington

- NorthNuck

Huberdeau – McDavid – Stone

Point – MacKinnon – Barzal

Marchand – Crosby – Bergeron

Couturier – O'Reilly – Horvat

extra: Stamkos

Theodore – Pietrangelo

Chychrun – Makar

Nurse – Hamilton

extra: Chabot

Price
Fleury

No Marner/Tavares/Reily (i'd rather Horvat and Barzal and Nurse).

It's funny seeing so many newer kids on the roster, or former mainstays left off, e.g. Doughty, Getzlaf, Hall, etc.

I could see Marchand/Crosby/Bergeron getting one last kick at the can and providing that leadership role though.

Not that I agree with these ((frank) Binnington), but here's what the Athletic put together for the countries:

I’d be interested to hear from anyone who might know the ins and outs of how a KHL deal could happen. In the past players who are signed to the KHL can not come to the NHL until their deal has expired. There is no transfer agreement in place. How then could a player who has signed an NHL ELC go play in the KHL?

I’m sure that this season will be more normal, but I think there is still a high degree of risk of interruption to the CHL season. The KHL might be a better spot for him this year, and then the AHL next year. I guess we’ll see.

Isn't he also eligible to play in the AHL this year because he hasn't played in the CHL yet? I wonder if he goes down to the CHL, then they cancel their season, if he'd be able to go to the AHL (assuming theirs is still on)?

Yeah, no idea. If he played in the CHL this year does that make him ineligible for the AHL in his 19 year old season? I mean, maybe two years in the CHL and then a year or two in the AHL is the best medicine?

Someone should look up the rules…

Sounds like you might be one of the few that are concerned about this, hopefully you give us a breakdown on any information you find on this matter.πŸ‘

The Q then to Abby if the Q gets shuts down. The KHL is not worth the risk nor do I care for that route. Smaller ice experience is best

I’m as unconcerned as humanly possible. My expectation for a second round pick is 50% likely to make the NHL in 4 or 5 years. Which route a player takes is irrelevant. I was just curious as the KHL was mentioned as an option and wondering the logistics of it. Perhaps Nucker could write a blog explaining it.

Morning,

Hope you're making the most of the last long weekend of summer.

New blog is up, with a bunch of other-sports chatter, ongoing preparations for the season and a little bit of Olympic speculation.
