So, you're saying Matthews delayed having wrist surgery to avoid part of training camp. Honestly, I wish there was a way to confirm, because it is a bold and radical hot take, no question.
- Zezel

I’m not saying he did it to deliberately miss camp but should have made sure it happened earlier so he wouldn’t.

It’s actually close… typical Toronto media is stating nonsense like that, but 6 weeks post surgery is only two days into camp, my concern is due to it being a wrist it might take longer

Nylander is worth 6.9 easily, why people moan about that blows me away.

JT is also their leader, worth his contract (so long as his game hasn’t sank due to that injury)

Marner plays top lines in everything, worth every penny

Matthews is nothing more than an offensive threat so he’s overpaid

- Dozzer

Yes.

No. I think this signing was the beginning of the end.

No. He's overpaid, especially not to show up in the playoffs.

Hmmm? An offensive threat and he's overpaid? He IS a legit offensive threat any time he is on the ice, it's kinda exactly what teams pay for. His term for the price is at least a year short IMO but his $ is right on.

I do somewhat agree with your take on Matthews walking and wearing down early though. He'll be somewhere between Sundin and Lindros.

I believe those would be the first days of camp he's missed in his career, no? And apparently he came into last year in great shape before he won the Rocket. Seems pretty solid to me.

That’s why I’m saying wait til the end of this upcoming season and if the leafs haven’t done better move him while he still has an extremely high value

And as I’ve said about 100 times today his career will slowly start to move downhill in two years… not now

I love Marner on the PK tbh, he’s so damn good at gaining and possessing the puck I don’t want him off it
- Dozzer

Too many minutes though, need his strength for 5v5 and PP JMO

Yes he is, I’d still take him over AM if I need to win a game right now.

Because people keep twisting my words and making arguments by not referring to what I’ve said
- Dozzer

Whos twisting your words?
You came in throwing out trade Matthews cause you know hes leaving and is regessing and anyone who disagreed was foolish etc etc.

It may, but he'll have the whole season to recover, get stronger and get ready to explode in the playoffs.

I’m sure most superstar hockey players ( like Kuch ) could play lw rw Center, even D, Phil Kessel could do what Erik Karlsson does

Cant disagree with that.
