Nylander is worth 6.9 easily, why people moan about that blows me away.

JT is also their leader, worth his contract (so long as his game hasn’t sank due to that injury)

Marner plays top lines in everything, worth every penny

Matthews is nothing more than an offensive threat so he’s overpaid

- Dozzer

I suppose we will agree to disagree, my friend.

From what I've seen Matthews is one of the best 200 foot players in the game, in addition to being the best goal scorer. He'd be the number one C on every team in the league except maybe one or two.

Yeah, we are (frank)ed up because we know this roster won't lift a cup and its just going to be another era of "almost".....

If only we female doged better, things might have turned out different.

Dump Matthews, go sign a couple forward at roughly nylander’s wage and the leafs will still have two dominant top lines with the skill spread around far better.

I’m okay with marner’s pay because he’s leaned on heavier than any other player on the team

Ah, I see. But you also seemed to suggest he won't be a good playoff performer ever, which I don't agree with.

Marner's mildly overpaid, but when slight overpayment is going to elite players, that's way better than some of the deadwood millions that are out there in the league. Marner's a great problem to have. He's going to have a mammoth season this year, including playoffs.

- Zezel

Did I? Might want to read it again.

I said I couldn't care how many reg season points he puts up if he doesn't put up playoff numbers with respect to his contract.

As I’ve said multiple times I agree with you

Now

In two years or so he’s going to start fading… just wait and see

It is the equivalent don’t bother to try and convince me otherwise

And that’s precisely what I’m talking about… you’ll trade Marner before Matthews and I think you’re horribly wrong

- Dozzer

No its not the same, so accept it.
Im allowed to have an opinion.
Im not advocating trading either, but usually you dont let go of a franchise center whens hes giving no sign of regression.
As i said, if after the surgery he regresses in performance and pts....then sure move him.
Personally i dont care who they trade, as ive mentioned several times in the past, i just want a winning team.
But in the context of whatever this is, i can't see them trading matthews next year or before marner/willie unless they know 100% he wants to leave.

And I believe he doesn’t want to stay in Canada, plain and simple. He spends absolutely no time here unless it’s the season.

I 100% believe you’re completely wrong and you won’t convince me otherwise

Exactly!! He produced so well during the regular season he got an award, but he didn’t do well in the post season because he was hurt

(frank) off matthews you bullpoopting loser

- Dozzer

I mean, did have actual surgery in the offseason, not sure if it's an excuse so much as playing through injury.

Do you believe he will start fading cause of his wrist surgery?
Is that why?

Take Marner off the PK, we don’t need him for that. Rather save his energy for other parts of the game.

Neither are getting traded anytime soon I wouldn’t think. If 1 goes it would be Marner if I had to guess...just because of the way the contract negotiations were handled etc.

Yes… but had it late because he didn’t think he needed it… so now because of selfish behaviour he won’t get a full pre-season in.

And likely stay home where the surgery was done til he gets medical clearance

Just what he wants

He’s going to become older, so slower

And I think due to his game style he’s going to get hurt more often as well, he’s not a 20 year old anymore so he’s not going to remain as difficult to injure

I love Marner on the PK tbh, he’s so damn good at gaining and possessing the puck I don’t want him off it
