This is my damn point… if the leafs aren’t true cup contenders next year keep JT and MM and dump Matthews for high value picks, and a lot of them.
Move JT up to line one and go sign a free agent C for line 2… someone more around the 7 mill range - Dozzer
Might as well trade Muzzin, then. He’s up same time as Matthews and is falling apart a lot faster. |

The Leafs will not be cup contenders based on this roster structure.. thats my hot take. - IRON.MAIDEN
Yeah I’m not feeling it either, hence why unless they surprise me this year I want them to move Matthews |

I doubt it. I’m guessing Dubas will get another contract regardless of how the team does.
Why? Cause half his contract was spent changing LL’s goals and team build. - Dozzer
The 105pt team. Fair point.
The payoff with Lou should have been those young fellers under market value Contracts, then Dubas could have tweaked it with more room. Shanny pulled the trigger too quickly on Lou, IMO |

My god, plays top line, top PP, top PK, and puts up top 10 points year round… he’s getting what he deserves - Dozzer
Cmon dude, he's absolutely not worth 12% of the cap..
He could put up 200 (frank)ing points regular season, it means nothing in playoffs. Unless you celebrate regular season accolades ?? |

No he isn’t. He’s been getting hurt more and more often. He’s going to fade early in his career I (frank)ing know it. - Dozzer
He's the best goal scorer in the league since his debut. He just ran away with the Art Ross, while nursing a sore wrist. |

But Matthews is cool even tho he only had one more point than him last playoff series? And both were still putting up more than a point every two games? Even tho they were constantly faced with the habs best defensive players due to the JT injury?
No, I don’t blame Marner one bit. |

You guys are way to pro Matthews
And I don’t want to wait til he’s nearly 40 to become a more advanced player which is what you just said ovi did.
Be good this year and dump Matthews end of story.
But how dare I say that in here? You guys chirp me for thinking that because you’re too busy practically masturbating thinking of him.
But you (frank)ing loathe Marner who is far more advanced when it comes to all aspects of the game. - Dozzer
Wtf are you talking about?
Loathe marner?
Ive spent parts of summer on here chatting with marner haters about not facking trading him.
Ive said many times that both matthews and marner failed these past playoffs.
Im neither on the marner or matthews or willie train. In fact, if im riding any train....its with motherfacking Captain JT!
So im not sure where the hell you came up with any loathing for marner.
I believe both he and matthews got overpaid, both poop the bed the last 3 games of series, but both are awesome in their own way. Ones a scorer and physical, the other an elite playmaker and pk'er. |

Neither of them have. Both of them have to. People choosing to crucify one at the expense of the other are delusional. They both failed in the postseason. They both have the skills to succeed and did so. Matthews is among, if not the best the Leafs have had in my memory.

You were talking about trading Marner just earlier today ffs! That’s is the equivalent to loathing.
Also don’t cheat the swearing filter again. Consider that your warning… and so you know it’s one I’m tossing at everyone doing it. |

So you trade one of the best players the Leafs have ever drafted at age 23? Are you really, really confident he's never gonna have a good playoff? Cause he's already had one, so that should give some pause I think, when looking at his age and all-world numbers. Trading Marner has Leafy written all over it. |

Can’t expect to have a player do that and then say you’re only gonna get 7 million like Nylander |

I really wish people would stop thinking for me. I didnt say Matthews was amazing and Marner is garbage. If you've read along you'd see I don't like AM, and simply think MM is overpaid, regardless of how many points he puts up.
Sheesh, you guys take your love of a certain player way too far. |
