With the Isles finally making some of their moves official (Palmeri 4x$5M, Beauvillier 3x$4.15M, Sorokin 3x$4M, Cizikas 6x$2.5M), the team current sits ~$3.73M over the cap, but Boychuk's $6M will go to LTIR at season's start, giving them an extra ~$2.27M in room to play with.

Roussel was much more classy about it. Said he understood he hadn't played up to his contract but was happy on a personal level with how he came back from the knee injury. Said he appreciated the fans in Van and will miss the city but is also excited to go to Ari with Beagle because they've become good buddies.

It's crazy how much is put on Dmen scoring points in the NHL. Reilly is a year younger than Parayko, but I bet he ends up getting 8 mil+ because he's a point producer and he plays in TOR.

Given the choice between the 2, I would take Parayko.

I would take Parayko over either of the two mentioned. That is what Hughes is worth . Giving a 8-9 mil to him is a joke.

I get you have a preference but Parayko doesn't have a unique skill set like QH for the modern game. Myers, Poolman etc are Parayko types but very few can operate like QH. Plus whether F/D defensive guys get paid less then offensive players.
