Its like 2 - 2.5 m per....
So not a huge issue...even if he gets tossed to the ahl in years 4-6.

Lou signings always get in the heads of some.
Wheres roger?

- Fakepartofme

its 2.5M. for a 31 year old bottom 6 player. players like that have a shelf life much shorter than talented players.

Look at Eric Staal at 36...This is a really bad deal.

It will be a lot of dead money in a couple years.

No, we just drive a lot, well before Covid we did. not so much now
we would have a daily driver that put 50k+ a year on..they always lasted about 3 years before they werent worth the upkeep, so we by a new one (used) for 6-7k and drive it to death each time

since 2010 we have had

2003 ford expl sport trac
2007 toyota FJ
2006 Honda civic
2009 Mazda 6 (still have it)
2008 mazda 3 (got this last aug for 750)
2017 colorado

so yeah we have 3 vehicles at the moment...expecting the M6 to die soon

- senstroll

I always liked the explorer sport trac, how was that?

Ya I get it, I’ll drive the Honda til it dies...we had a Corolla and it died so we bought a new 17 Civic...paid off next year so hoping the old Ridgeline makes it close to then...it’s struggling 😆

I’ve never paid for a phone, always free with a subscription....now the companies aren’t doing that....pay for the phone on the side....(frank) dat, I’ll use my I8 until it blows up.
- Garnie

That's how they get ya.

You are paying for the phone - it is included in your monthly bill and amortized over the contract term.

That call you get near the end of the contract for a "free" upgrade? That is just them convincing you to buy a new phone, with a new amortization.

Car dealerships pull the same sh!t. They will call you a year or two before your car is paid off - and offer you a brand new car for the same monthly price!. Of course, they don't remind you that you will own the car outright in a year or two and wouldn't have to pay them anything.

Now the plans are the same price plus the cost of the phone. It was never the new model phone it was always a couple years old...so free to me

It's definitely an odd move. The Islanders are $4m over the cap. They have a number of difficult to move contracts. He's affordable in the concept of year-to-year, but in times of cap crunch, he's the Matt Martin casualty - that $2.5m becomes problematic.

The $5m x 4 for Palmieri is more odd. He scored 10 goals last year. I know he stepped up in the playoffs, but . . . he sure vanished for a whole season.

Just bought a new fridge this morning. Lemon Kitchenaid freezer gave out a month ago. We turned off water dispenser years ago after many attempts to fix.

Hard to find a decent quality machine without bells and whistles (no water, etc). Finally got a GE.

I love that you can buy fridges that allow people to see what a disgusting mess it is inside. I think some kind of smell feature would be good.

Our 9-year old fridge went last year. Believe it or not, it was too cold - the thingamajiggy to regulate the cool air between the freezer and fridge was gone, so everything in the fridge was freezing.

And the front glass/panel where the ice/water was dispensed was cracked.

So it was going to be $900-$1000 to fix a 9-year old fridge.

My wife suggested it would make more sense to just spend the $1,600 to get a new one. I agreed with that thinking.

Of course, $2,600 later ,we had a new fridge...

Sigh.

Happy wife, happy life.

I did the math - a water and ice dispenser (from whatever manufacturer) is about a $600 option. It's a waste of money.

My wife disagreed.

Sigh.

F'n Kitchenaid. When we bought our place 11 years ago we went to a home show and bought a Kitchenaid package - Fridge, Stove, Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher and OTR Microwave.

The Washer, Dishwasher and Microwave have all been replaced. The Fridge has been serviced twice. The Stove has been serviced once - and to be honest, I hate it. It takes 20 minutes to heat the oven to temp.

I don't know who I'll go with in the future, but it sure won't be Kitchenaid.

Right. He's $6m. They have to consider their $1.3m in bonus overage, so I think they get to recapture $4.7m from him which leaves them about $700k of LTIR flexibility. It works.

I don’t remember how many times we had somebody out to fix the water dispenser. It was a lot. We finally just had it turned off. The next morning we came down and there was water all over the floor. The (frank)er would just turn itself on and pour out water. Had to turn off the water.

Pretty fridge though.

We looked at LG and GE for the fridge. Our cleaning lady said she had trouble getting service on her warranty for the LG. The salesperson said LG hasn't certified a lot of repair people. We liked both so got GE

They were the top two rated in Consumer Reports.

Not a fan of kitchenaid.
But even some of the highend appliances are made in the same factories as the cheap ones.
They just put a different label on it

I just check Best buy every year around boxing day. I don't have any brand loyalty (other than maybe to best buy, but they seem to have the best prices and service) We have a Frigidaire fridge, a LG stove, and a Samsung dryer. The dishwasher is probably gonna go soon, so I will be looking for a new one this boxing day.

Yeah. We had this microwave. It was big, chrome, curved and had a pretty display panel. When we saw it we loved it. It was the add-in to the package. You got it for free. Because we got it for free with the package, the no-lemon policy didn't apply. It was the worst of the bunch. It was serviced 6 times in 5 years and at the advice of the technicians who came out to fix it, as soon as it broke after 5 years we threw it out (the advice was, "This piece of poop is more expensive to fix than it's worth. Buy a new one once the warranty is up.").

An example of poor engineering: A fuse blew. They had to disassemble the entire thing to replace the fuse, because it was behind the motor.

Another example: The light burnt out. They had disassemble the entire thing and remove the gd motor to replace the light bulb.
