We're looking to rehab our back patio as well, currently old decking but going to tear it down and take it to ground level.
Was thinking either interlocking pavers or pea gravel with large concrete pavers. - TheMussel
Ya i have to do the same to my deck next year, its done. Its a 12 x 20 so decent size deck
I recently did 1x2 patio stones for my lower patio and i also have 1x2s in river rock for the pathway to the sheds. Looks good.
Double up on the garden fabric but also realize that if you live in a mature tree area youll still get weeds as they will come from debris falling on pea stones. But those you can simply pull out. |

Well, it looks like my cheap ass is going to upgrade my Iphone 4 so that I can get this new vaccine app.
This is going to be a nightmare. Old people are going to b!tch if it is only available through an app.

If it's anything like Quebec, you can print it out and carry it around with you.
Haven't seen anything about it being exclusively electronic. |

It's a little late in the game to even be thinking about it. You need to make an app, the app needs to know your vaccine status and who you are, the app needs to be secure, the app needs to work properly. You're looking at min 2 months of development if you don't want to put peoples' personal info (or safety) at risk. |

People are bonkers these days. If you had an app that could reference a central repository that had your personal information integrated, including your vaccination status, health status, blah, blah, blah, the value would be exceptionally high in terms of improving civil service offerings and management. But privacy warriors will cry that it's an invasion of privacy - like the COVID tracking app, which was nerfed so much it's practically useless. |

One phone and one car since 2012ish.
If I had to point to the two biggest unnecessary purchases people make, it would be car and phone upgrades.
But to each their own of course. I just don't think some people realize that they have spent 5k+ on cell phones in the last decade.

Dont get stamped concrete, no matter how much you pay or who you get, it only looks good for 3-4 years then its a disaster.
Get a quality composite...not a cheap one as they warp and get really hot under the sun. - Fakepartofme

We're ripping ours out. Even with good grading drainage lead to some heaving and sinking in a few spots. Also lots of seams for weeds to crawl through.
I'm going to repurpose the bricks and build a stand/storage for the pizza oven that I haven't bought yet. |

but also, personally a cell phone and car is pretty necessary. we dont have land lines and pre-covid drove 70k on our 2 vehicles.
that said I "upgrade" my cell every 3-4 years, out of necessity since they start to break down, battery issues, charging problems etc.. I always buy my phones outright and have never spent more than $700 on one. so I think ive spent around 2500 on 4 phones in 10 years.
i dont cheap out, but I also dont go for the most expensive flagship shiny new phone |

Its like 2 - 2.5 m per....
So not a huge issue...even if he gets tossed to the ahl in years 4-6.
Lou signings always get in the heads of some.

No, we just drive a lot, well before Covid we did. not so much now
we would have a daily driver that put 50k+ a year on..they always lasted about 3 years before they werent worth the upkeep, so we by a new one (used) for 6-7k and drive it to death each time
since 2010 we have had
2003 ford expl sport trac
2007 toyota FJ
2006 Honda civic
2009 Mazda 6 (still have it)
2008 mazda 3 (got this last aug for 750)
2017 colorado
so yeah we have 3 vehicles at the moment...expecting the M6 to die soon |
